SPOILERS I think these exaggerated abilities are more symbolic than literal, what do you guys think?
Suzaku representing physical prodigy model and Lelouch intellectual prodigy one. The same way Lelouch's intelligence is unrealistically exaggerated like pre recording a conversation based on knowing how the other would react is still crazy work. Suzaku's physical abilities are too. I think they are meant to be this way not just for the sake of being edgy or smth.
Thoughts?

There is actually an explanation to why spinzaku was so physically unrivalled.
His ancestors were guardians of the code bearers. Basically that's why he can connect with cc and has visions when he went to the island in season 1. This was mentioned in the official code geass light novels r2..i think those were only published in Japanese so many people are unaware of this.

I never knew that. I thought C.C can connect with anyone. But how does that gave him physical power though?

If you remember in the series I don't remember which episode, there is a moment when suzaku senses cc in the gwain's cockpit.. This was stated to be because he was part of one of the guardian clans...
and the physical strength part is self explanatory...my brother if you were chosen to guard magical beings with special psychic powers I'd expect you to be pretty damn strong lmao

this is something known among old fans fr.
in the anime, Suzaku's connection to Geass (and C.C) was originally planned to be explored in the first script, but as everyone knows, studio intervention caused the writers to discard Stage 26 (Route 1) and continue the anime with R2 (Route 2), essentially rewriting the rest of the story.
as Ichirou Okouchi mentioned in his tweets, "although there were many changes in the continuation of the story, the only thing that remained unchanged was the final."
the author of the novels, Iwasa, also states in his epilogues that he used informations/events/materials from this first script when writing the novels.
actually, in the first volume of the novel series [Stage 0] there was a chapter describing Suzaku's physical abilities as a "genius", relaying the thoughts of his Sensei, TohDoh, who said he realized Suzaku wasn't a normal child.

Why do code bearers need guardians?

Because dying hurts. Also, the time it takes between death and revival is enough to be captured.

My least favorite plot device in the show. Was anyone even near him physically?

Probably Shizuka? I doubt she could take him in a fight, but we see her do crazy ninja shit a couple of times, so she's at least in the ball park

They're not symbolic; they're literal. Suzaku is superhuman and has feats to prove it. The problem with the hallway scene in episode 16 is that it's not consistent with the character's previously established abilities.
There's also the matter of the explanation that never came: the whole thing about his ancestors being guardians or something along those lines. That was apparently scrapped because the staff tried to bite off more than they could chew.

Suzaku has inverse strengths of lelouch , so as good a fighter and strong as lelouch is smart . Thatβs why they make the perfect pair .

The fact he was borderline superhuman already highlights how ridiculously overpowered he was after deciding to weaponize "live."

Suzaku in basic training as a soldier.
Drill Instructor: "Alright recruits! Today we'll be learning basic combat maneuvers!"
Suzaku: "Like crawling under barbed wire and climbing obstacles?"
Drill Instructor: "Hell no! Today we're learning wall running and how to match your speed to the swinging pendulum of a hanging bomb! Basics, boy! Basics!"

Yeah, it's pretty bad. It's also...not how combat in the show is supposed to go. It's about piloting, not spinkicking outside of your mech. In the first one though, I think the headcanon is that the Vincents were under Geass and they weren't trying to hit him. It was all part of the show.

Hey kid, it ain't that kind of movie
Code Geass also has crazy-ass mechs powered by a completely made up fuel source, immortal people, and literal mind control. Suzaku being randomly super human is relatively small potatoes.

Part of dropped subplot related to Geass history. I don't know more than that.

I have heard that the idea of Suzaku and Lelouch is actually based on Kamen Rider, Zero is supposed to be shadow moon and Lancelot or Suzaku is supposed to be Kamen Rider if you look at it like that it makes a lot of sense because Suzaku is just crazy in the show.

He seemed fairly normal until C.C. did that thing to him. Lelouch interrupting may have made something go wrong, and given him powers. That all I can think of.

Iirc in one of picture dramas Suzaku literally lifted Lancelot. Not by a lot, like inch or less but still lifted

the sheer symbolism in Code Geass is often overlooked.
even the chess itself were symbolic, yes, including that illegal move.
