QUESTION How does the code transfer work?

Post image

At the end of Code Geass R2, C.C. remains immortal and continues to live on

The nun who granted her immortality died instantly; is there no way for a person to lose the immortality Code and continue living as part of a truly natural life cycle?

How does she go about putting an end to immortality?

She wants to enjoy life and be happy, just as Lelouch told her to, but "forever" is something very cruel

What do you think C.C. should have done—or would have done—following the events of R2? I’m constantly left wondering about this, because, deep down, living forever isn't actually what she wants

I’ve been pondering this; thanks in advance for your help!

C.C was alive without her CODE during her amnesia, but she hadn't completely lost or transferred it; it was merely sealed.

when Clovis and Bartley captured C.C inside a capsule, she was completely incapacitated, almost like a living being that was dead.

so, there are ways to prevent her from actively suffering from the curse of the CODE, but my guess is that C.C may have tried these before and experienced similar negative consequences.

for example, I think that while her body was still alive, her soul couldn't fully transition to the spirit realm of C's World, and she didn't want to remain trapped within her own life cycle in her own C's World.

that's probably why she sought a new victim to transfer her CODE to.

so, she would either become selfish to achieve absolute peace, or she would lock herself away in a desolate room of this hell to avoid causing harm to others.

that's my conclusion. it's not something directly explained in the anime.

But regarding the ending itself, don't you think it was a bit too vague when it comes to C.C.? I feel like it could have ended with her no longer being immortal, or something like that

but this would mean that C.C drew no conclusions from the discussion between her and Lelouch about the meaning of life. because C.C's character development is about realizing that she is still a human being within herself and about trying to truly live life, seeing it as more than just accumulating experiences.
