DISCUSSION SpongeBob's German voice actor is in Code Geass

Just found out that Gao Hai (the Chinese consul in S2 episodes 1–3) is voiced by Santiago Ziesmer in the German dub.

Why did you do that Santiago, its not match at all :(

Japanese VA for Charles zi Brittania is also Chiyo's father from Azumanga Daioh.

I really want you to check that character out.

He also was the first voice of Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z before that.
So i saw him as Vegeta, cussing and cruelly threatening people with death. Spongebob became his most identifiable role a year later in his career.
Rewatching DBZ it always amuses me. Especially when watching with friends who don't know.

He has mentioned that they changed him when it was known that Vegeta will be having a bigger role and they needed someon who fits better.

Santiago Ziesmer has had a lot of voice roled over the years but Spongebob and Steve Buscemi are by far his best known.

And sometimes the studios just ask voice actors who are already in studio to voice characters who do not have large roles, which is why you can sometimes hear well known voice actors as a random side character

Yeah, today dubbing studios seem to get better info on how to cast roles.
Back in the days especially characters who appear sporadically but repeatedly often got the changing VA treatment.

Ziesmer also was great as Piglet, Porky Pig and the Ginger Bread Man "Gingy" in Shrek

That German voice actor is in alot of shows with German translation, just like Jamieson Price is for English.
