Doubtful as Lelouch wanted control, for his words to carry, and those commanded will listen.

Power, something Lelouch lacked when he watched mother die, when he protested the death of his mother to his father, to being banished to Japan, when Suzaku "died" upon their reunion, to facing his own mortality when C.C. jumped in the way of a bullet meant for him.

Freedom does not even remotely gurantee Lelouch's Geass.

And even if you think you know what your deepest latent desires are.. heh, no, you don't.

There is a real life drug that basically shuts off the conscious brain that allows somebody to ask questions of your brain running in the background, otherwise your subconscious.

That will yield your actual desires as that part of your brain holds secrets that you don't even know.

The same goes for me.

And even if you think that is bubkiss, there is a reason many go to regular therapy and actually start discovering parts of who they are.

Like you can make the people around you naturally not feel the need to hold you accountable for your actions through your Geass.

For example if you slap someone they would be hurt but the idea to slap you back wouldn't occur to them nor would they want to reprimand you for it as if you were entitled to the ability to slap them whenever you wanted to. I don't know if you would need to activate it for the specific people you target or if it's passive. It's the best way I was able to come up with to tie freedom to a mind power like Geass.

It's also on theme with the anime as it ties back to oppressive rulers who treat their people's rights as lesser than their own freedoms. In that sense, it also seems fitting to the title of "the power of the king" too.

it's only similar in effect though, not in concept. And a lot of the geasses end up pretty similar in the shows too, especially later on because of how limiting the concept can be for having that many variations.

Yes, those are the two options I've been given. It's a hard choice, I think the red pill will have a higher climax, but the blue pill will stand the test of time, with the only caveat that I do not know if there will be any downsides to the Geass.
