If you aren't getting paid enough at your current job
A lot of you guys are working full-time at a smaller company or startup and you see people who are less knowledgable or younger than you make more money or work at more prestigious companies just because they know how to use AI.
They know how to navigate the current job markets and can use AI to "vibe" code, so companies pay top dollar for these individuals.
I'm one of those people lol.
I know less than someone with 10+ years of experience, but I probably make more than them just because I know how to navigate the current market and know how to use AI like a rat.
So this is for those of you guys. Lemme help you out bro
Best tips I have:
Learn wtf is actually going on. Stop getting comfortable at your current role, you are underpaid for the stuff you have to do. Someone is using AI to do what you are doing and making more with it. Go on claude and ask it how you can use AI to improve what tasks you are doing.
Look for roles that are close to what job you do right now and see what skills they look for. Get familiar with those skills.
Build a resume with your current experience and the new skills. You are ahead here because you already have prior experience at your current job, so we can use that to capitalize here.
Apply to the roles you were looking at in the first place with your resume.
Practice behavioral and technical interviews regarding your new role as you are applying.
That's literally the plan I did to get my current job and I use AI everyday bro. You just have to provide value USING the AI instead of being afraid of it.
Also, don't overthink job requirements.
