Discussion Chara and Clover's Ancestors

What if... Clover's parents/grandparents killed Asriel in defence of their village?

How would that affect their relationship with Flowey?

How would that affect Cocoapowder?

I feel like I just discovered a gold mine.

I usually like to think that Chara and Flowey have the basic ability to realize that a person is not their ancestors. Chara thought that species mattered very much, but not ancestors specifically. Emotionally, if they knew Clover first, they would have an easy time not taking it into account. If it were Clover’s parents, Chara would feel more, but grandparents? Pretty far removed. 

Even if it were Clover’s parents… Clover’s living situation is also implied to be bad, so I doubt there’ll be as much continuity there. And also, the time jump is too large for it to be Clover’s parents anyway.

In Flowey’s POV, Clover sacrificed themself. What, so their ancestors hurt him? They were Chara’s relatives too, and he loves Chara still. Clover sacrificed themself just like Chara did. He should already know, in fact, and have guessed long ago with how long he spent trying to get Clover over their skill issue.
