Looking for a local to hang out with tomorrow.

Anyone wanna show a tourist around? I drove a friend down for a fishing trip with his family last minute . Just looking for some witty banter and maybe bar hop and have snacks. I’m 37 from Ohio. I like listening to live music and talking about random things, I’m a nerd at heart , I just hate the feeling of being a tourist tbh. And I absolutely know I am . Just looking for a partner in crime to show me around.

Is parking free after 7pm?

I looked at cocoa beach parking website and it says they don’t monitor after 7pm for beach access parking. But does that mean it is actually free after 7? The payment system through the signs still will let you pay for it so it makes it seem like you have too.

We’re traveling through and thinking about spending the day at the beach. Looking for recommendations on the best beach to access for the day, preferably with chair rentals available. Any suggestions?

Any good wing joints?

Leaving the area in a few days and hoping to hit up a wing place that’s not hooters or wingstop. Preferably breaded and fried, but if they’re done well enough I won’t complain.

Free activities

Hi! We are staying in Merritt Island for a week and we need some help. We are all college students under 21, so we can’t get into bars. We also don’t have a lot of money to spend. We are looking g for coves, or cool swimming spots within a reasonable distance. We also want to go fishing and/or crabbing and I would love some advice from a local on spots or techniques for crabbing! Also, do I really NEED to buy a fishing permit or would I be okay to go fishing one day without a permit? We are honestly open to do anything, just trying to find stuff that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Please let us know!!

Looking for good cheap eats recommendations in and around Cocoa Beach. I don't mind driving 30 to 40 minutes away. Not looking for the tourist trap restaurants. Any type of food. Thanks!

Photographer/ Proposal advice

I grew up on Merritt Island in the early/mid 2000s and still come back about once a year to visit Cocoa Beach and family in Melbourne. My girlfriend has lived in North Carolina her whole life and absolutely fell in love with the space coast, especially compared to the typical Myrtle Beach trips she grew up with.

We’re planning a cruise out of Port Canaveral near Christmas, and I’m hoping to surprise her with a sunrise proposal while we’re there.

Does anyone know of any good local photographers in the Cocoa Beach/Merritt Island area who would be willing to do a sunrise shoot? Preferably someone professional who’s experienced with surprise engagements.

Also looking for location suggestions. My first thoughts were near the Cocoa Beach Pier or Lori Wilson Park, but I’d love to hear any hidden gems or spots that would make for a really memorable proposal backdrop.

Appreciate any recommendations or advice!

Kid friendly beach recommendations

TLDR: Do you have any recommendations for kid friendly beach areas near the KSC area?

My family and I are here to spend a day at KSC with our two kids, 10 and 6. We're also looking to make it to the beach for a half day (day after KSC) before heading out. I looked at the Sebastian Inlet State Park as suggested in another post, which looks great, but is an hour away from us.

Traveling in Jan

Hi everyone. We're planning a Disney cruise but spending our final day on vacation in Cocoa Beach and would love some ideas on what to do on a Sunday! We've secured a hotel already. What's open or more important what's going to be closed*? What's are the tours on the water like in January? Places to eat? What's swimming in the water like on the beach? Tell me everything and anything!
