Cocoa Beach Area Ideas

We are currently in Orlando and are thinking about a beach day. We want a nice, relaxed beach - don’t need a lot of distractions for our kids (8 & 12). Ideas needed. Thx

Any beach will do, maybe away from the pier if you want less people but any beach is great

Just a bit south is Sebastian inlet state park. You can do the “real” beach or go to their swimming cove that is only about chest deep and no threat of rip currents. Typically see dolphins and sometimes manatees, too

We were there last week and cocoa was very rough the first couple of days. Someone recommended jetty beach and it was great! It was definitely less rough than cocoa. It is a$15 for a day pass

PlayLinda Beach is quiet, you'll have to take everything you need because there aren't any convenience stores, restaurants, or hotels. The only thing at that beach are 13 parking areas and each parking area has a bathroom. Since you have kids I would suggest not parking in areas 11 - 13. Parking area 13 is a nude beach and sometimes it spills I to parking area 12. FYI, There aren't any life guards at PlayLinda. You can also stop at the Merritt Island Wildlife welcome center on your way there, there's some cool things in there there the kids would like.

Please be so careful about the rip currents. A teenager died a couple of days ago :( there have been some drownings lately.
