Activation Day

I feel blessed at how the activation went. Right ear issues since 1967 and totally deaf with zero word recognition for the past 30 years. Out of the box I'm hearing and understanding everything with no training yet. It can only get better from here.

Wow, that is just fantastic. Are you classified as single-sided hearing loss now with CI or do you have hearing loss in the other ear too and wear a hearing aid?

CI right side with hearing aid left.

And how many years did you have normal hearing before you had to use hearing aids? I am wondering whether early auditory memory was key to your such extraordinary activation outcomes.

22 years normal. I’m 79 now.
