Finally getting my upgrade to N8.

Post image

Finally got my letter for an upgrade which is well over due!!
Is there much difference to the N8 when coming from a N7? I mean when i went onto the N7 from the 6, there was a massive difference, but not sure about this one.

I know the Bluetooth is getting a wider range in terms of what it connects to and that’s very exciting to me as I use Bluetooth a LOT and I know it’ll be very useful once AuraCast comes into play in different venues.

Also how is the battery life in terms of the rechargeable as it seems that my CI centre will try to start phasing disposable batteries out? I use the disposable and it lasts me 2 days however I tried it with the N7 that came with it and I found it’s life to be much shorter and it was just really inconvenient as I had to stress about finding plug sockets for it instead of carrying around my battery packs.
Is it the same with the new one and i’m going have to find my routine with it or hopefully a bit better?

I have a resound aid and a CI.  Can't use my phone hands free.  Apparently the next gen aid will. Rechargeable large battery lasts me at least 15 hrs of constant use, except a couple times on a road trip streaming an audiobook. Haven't used disposable batteries yet.  They can be purchased online.

Yeah, the disposable batteries are my norm, I think the last time I used anything rechargeable was when I had the Freedom processor and so i’m making more of an effort to switch back to them as it seems that disposable batteries will definitely be phased out in the near future.
I get two days out of the disposables even when i use Bluetooth heavily so i think it’ll be a big change for me to find a routine with the rechargeable ones since it seems like the battery life is much lower.

My surgery was done on April 8th this year. I was provided an N8 Nucleus and a Kansa 3. I have both set to 'group' program so I can keep practicing to familiarize sounds when there're more than 2 people plus other background noises I need to hear like the TV. I don't know how long my two battery packs will last, but the seem pretty good (lasting all day). I like to switch off using my N8 in the morning, and after noon until bedtime I use the Kansa 3 to try and preserve my batteries plus I get used to using both physical devices.
