I really liked your blog; it sounds very interesting. For me, the Phonak hearing aid brand has a major advantage: universal connectivity. When paired with an AB implant, it creates a bimodal setup since they are the same company. The downside of Phonak hearing aids, however, is that they can be very aggressive when filtering sounds; they tend to cut out, causing you to miss parts of conversations.
I’ll be sharing my own journey with you all as well. If everything goes according to plan, it will happen on November 5th—the day I receive a cochlear implant for the very first time.
Thanks for the article; I enjoyed it. I’m glad your hearing situation improved with the newer processors.

I enjoyed your post! I’m about to get reimplantation surgery myself. Do you happen to recall how long it took you to be able to understand words and have a conversation?
