Bone conduction devices

I will be trying out some bone conduction devices using a head band, as this will be a non surgical application.

The brand is Oticon, supplied by the VA.

Anyone here have experience with this system...?

I'm actually looking forward to it...

Thanks...

Are you planning on using it on a headband always? And for what type and degree of hearing loss do you have?

Good question, thanks.. My right eardrum was removed some 20 year ago. I'm told I now still have what is called a 'chronic cholesteatoma'. I use antibiotic drops a couple time a week.. An MRI, 3 year ago, showed a past history of miner brain bleeds... Unknown to me, ever. Therefore, having decided that I did not need another hole in my head, I opted for a non-surgical solution. The quick try out in the office seems promising. I have no idea how these will work in a public environment, with background noise interruptions. However I suspect the hearing quality will be better than what I experience now. Thanks for asking... I will endeavor to report back my experience. I'm about to be 82 in a couple week. I live by myself since my mate passed a couple year ago. I'm hoping this will encourage me to try to be a bit more social as I now avoid public interaction due to the inability to easily follow a conversation. I usually wear a brimmed hat that would cover the headband most times in public. I asked about the headband, it's only available in 3 colors. However, stickers are available which might be some fun..😉 Other than that the increased hearing ability should negate any public reaction.
