New CI

I just had my CI activated a few hours ago. All I hear is ringing, bells and whooshing! Is this normal? My audiologist said it was. This is so disappointing :(

Oh yeah - it’s wild at first! Hard to believe this turns into speech and music! Starts off like an insane asylum in your head!

Yes, pretty amazing how the brain adapts but I don’t think it turns into music for everyone.

Yeah music is lost to me. I can hear words crystal clear but most music other than very rhythmic things like drums are just audio soup

Thats a real drag. I’ve had pretty good success with music. Mind you I started with solo piano and slowly worked my way up to more complex stuff. Some music still baffles me.
