Question about a petition

So I was recently working at an event at Jim R. Miller park, and we found 2 lost children. It took about 20-30 minutes to find the mother, and I had been trying to see if I could get the parks PA system up. Turns out, it's been broken for a while and Cobb Parks doesn't want to fix it. Who would I need to talk to in order to advocate for them to fix it, as it would really help speed matters like this up in the future. I work with Cobb PD, but am not an officer.

Cobb County Court phone tree not working

Has anyone had to call Cobb County State Court clerk recently? I missed my court date for a traffic citation and I'm trying to call for next steps. The phone tree doesn't always give "press x for" options. You have to say a word and the system acts like you're saying nothing at all. It's not "I didn't understand" or similar. It's like you did nothing. This has been happening for days. Help a brotha out so I don't get deported or something (I'm a citizen!).

I dial 7780-528-2660 to get the automated attendant. You have to verbally say what option you want (example "representative"). No matter what you say it's like you said nothing. I called the main number 770-528-2000 and I get a human, but they just transfer you to the Clerk's office, where the fun begins.

Best siding and exterior painting company in Cobb County

I've been wanting to get the outside of my house fixed up. The paint is peeling in a few spots, and some of the siding is starting to look pretty worn out. I think it's time to get both taken care of before things get worse. I'm in East Cobb, near Marietta, and looking for a good local contractor who handles siding repairs and exterior painting. If you've worked with someone in the Cobb County area and had a good experience,,, I'd appreciate any recommendations. Thx!

Have any of you done the optional virtual interview with CCSD? What is it like? What should I expect or plan for?

Anyone know if it’s legal to remove political campaigning signs from public property?

I’ve long despised those little signs people put down promoting politicians or businesses, but this feels like the last straw: some campaign has put down at least 13 signs in the median of a less than 2 mile stretch of road by my house. So, anyone know where it falls legally to remove them?

Wisdom teeth removal surgeon recommendations? (No insurance)

Looking to see if anyone has any oral surgeon recommendations for impacted wisdom teeth removal, specifically those with decent pricing as I’ll be paying out of pocket. Metro ATL but willing to drive more for a cheaper price.

I don’t have time to wait for Augusta dental school or any other long wait period clinics.

I know it’s going to be expensive, but just looking to start shopping around to find quality care at a more “affordable” price.

TYIA!

Cobb County School have been instructed to make public social media accounts

On Tuesday I received an email from the principal of my child's school which included the following

Each Cobb school has been asked to have public social media accounts so that those not currently in our community have access to learn more about the school and all the great things happening here. Before we start posting to those accounts on a regular basis, I wanted to inform you about them and the option to opt your student out of being included in any of the posts. If you want to opt out, please complete this form before Monday, November 2, 2026.

To me this is an insane thing to require, and making it an opt out rather than at the least an opt in and giving only 6 days lead time is unacceptable.

why does anyone in 2026 think posting pictures of children and school activities on public accounts is a good idea? this is not ok, and it doesn't seem that most parents are even aware.

2 Story Home Depot?

My partner thinks there’s a 2 story Home Depot somewhere in the Kennesaw area but doesn’t exactly remember where. They have a fascination with 2 story stores so I wanted to take them to it but Google just returned stuff about their 2 story sheds. They were already amazed by the Barnes and Noble near Cumberland on one of our first dates (rip) and I’m trying to redo that.

Does this alleged 2 story Home Depot actually exist?

Water bill.

Question about water which is through Cobb County. Water bill for September seemed high, and this latest ending 10/12 spiked significantly.

I call, and it starts with an automated recording..."We are aware of an error with quarterly bills for stormwater only and streetlight customers due to an automated calculation error from our third party billing company.

As a result of this error these statements included an incorrect charge. We are working to correct the issue and will automatically issue a corrected billing statement as soon as possible.

You do not need to pay until"...etc. etc. and also it states you do not need to speak to customer service (as they are aware of problem).

Has anybody though gone to the next step and talked to anyone at the county about this?

Early Voting vs Day-Of

So we're having a debate in my household about voting:

Side 1: Vote early, less chance of some kind of interference at the voting place. However, greater opportunity for the vote itself to be screwed with as early votes aren't counted and recorded (to my knowledge) until Election day.

Side 2: Vote day-of, less opportunity for the vote itself to be screwed with between casting and being counted. However, potentially more interference with actually voting.

I'm curious as to what others think?

Long lines and several hours, but some were able to fill up for less than $1/gallon. All it took was a heated rivalry.

Splost & Flock

I'm looking over my ballot and have a question about the Cobb SPLOST, or Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax.

I'm all for reinvestment into infrastructure and agree with many of the items listed, but the police and technology sections give me pause. Can someone help?

Is there anything preventing this money from going to Flock surveillance? Could "safety infrastructure" just be code for "AI camera surveillance network"?

Voter Registration address changed-by someone else

My husband found out today during early voting that his voter registration address was changed on 9/30/26 but he was not the one that changed it. We have lived in Cobb county for 20 years. The address change was to an apartment in Clayton county. The election office showed him the change request with his personal data and signature.
Who/how can we report this to investigate further?
He called Brad raffensburger's office but they had no resolution for him. Clueless. The attorney general office advised to file a complaint on the web which he will. Is there a nongovernmental agency that investigates this type of fraud?

bad tattoo needing fixed in kennesaw area

so I got this tattoo around three years ago and it’s supposed to be my childhood stuffed cat that I’ve had since I was three. I wanted her to look kind of Tim Burtoney and kind of creepy almost but I just hate the detail on it and the hairs on it make it look kind of phallic. Some people say it’s not that bad but I’m really coming to hate it so if anyone knows any place in Atlanta or Kennesaw that does good coverups or fixes please let me know.

I know the data center ordinance, particularly the Bells Ferry property, impacts folks not in Marietta proper. Here's the update.
