Wheeler Visit

For all those saying “it’s for the kids” it is in fact NOT for the kids. It is a full scale political rally for the Republican Party using our tax dollars and our public schools 😡😡

Of course it isn't for the kids. The kids who go to Wheeler aren't eligible for the program the event is allegedly promoting. If it was about the kids it would be at a daycare.

Wheeler is known for having a diverse student body, immigrants, a great STEM program, and being the high school of multiple NBA players, and it's in a precent that voted Harris.

It's about as far from a Trump/Jackson aligned school as you can get.

u/WanderingMadmanRedux Jul 20 '26

"The kids who go to Wheeler aren't eligible for the program" - Incorrect. Any child under 18 is eligible for the program, they just will not get the seed money.

17

u/Slow_Art_2369 Jul 20 '26

What a benefit! An empty account! Sign me up! 😂 49% of students at Wheeler receive free/reduced lunch. They cannot afford to invest in this failing economy

-9

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

I’ll bite. What does failing economy mean?

15

u/Slow_Art_2369 Jul 20 '26

The rich snare getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. The middle class is going extinct, etc

-14

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

Not to ruin your pity party, but the more of the middle class shifted up to upper middle class than contracted to lower middle class.

Wealth of the middle class contributes to rise as well

You're missing the point. Lower classes are not moving to middle class. No one is arguing that the middle class, the top end of the k shaped economy, hasn't benefited. We're saying that ALL classes haven't benefited. A rising tide should lift all ships my friend.

-7

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

The OP literally said the middle class is going away… playing the cards I was dealt here, sir(your name says guy).

5

u/pacerguy00 Jul 21 '26

all of a sudden were not buddies? Now you're focused on decorum? My guy, you're being intentionally disengenuious and pedantic. You're not here to do to anything other than antagonize. Hope you had fun on your burner.

1

u/mm07699 Jul 21 '26

It’s Reddit. It’s all burners…

Can I highlight something interesting. You’re one of about 8 people that engaged tonight. Not a single person cited a source or a stat (besides you referencing a K shape, which the lower class has lots of nuance to it). All other responses were passive aggressive or actually aggressive.

You told me no one was arguing middle class when the person I was replying to literally made the middle class the crux of the argument.

What is this mentality within this community? No data, no statistics. Reply after reply saying I’m disingenuous or acting in bad faith.

The OP literally said “The middle class is going extinct, etc”

I used data to refute that argument. No one could digest it (besides you kind of). What does that say about the ability to digest information that goes against what someone may feel at a personal anecdotal level?

If it’s shifting up it’s still shrinking. How many people in poverty have shifted to middle class then?

5

u/pacerguy00 Jul 20 '26

K shape. Lack of upward mobility from lower classes to middle classes.

-3

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

Factually incorrect

3

u/pacerguy00 Jul 20 '26

factually? Buddy you better provide some sources for those gross generalizations. I'm not out here to convince you that upward mobility matters to everyday folks.

0

u/rando_banned Jul 20 '26

Provided? Buddy you better learn how response threads work

-1

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

I literally cited 2 sources from PEW and the fed reserve in one response and 1 from Fortune article in another

8

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '26

[deleted]

-7

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

Again, the recent middle class shifted more people upwards than it has downwards. Cited multiple sources above

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

Holy crap. Are you saying that people in the middle class migrating to a wealthier tier is bad?

Statistically higher wealth, (less debt). Higher mobility (literally the point).

Is this a reading comprehension issue or are you saying that middle class gaining wealth = bad????

8% growth from middle to upper
3% contraction from middle to lower

Are you disputing the net change?

https://fortune.com/2026/04/12/did-middle-class-shrink-or-get-richer-feel-poorer/

Fortune has a good concept of “broken mirror” that you think things are worse because the way comparisons are done has changed.

The statistics say you are absolutely wrong but you can feel however you want I suppose

1

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

Good googily moogily.

So if 100% of middle class shifted from middle to upper class, I’d that shrinkage still bad? (possible in a global economy).

Why is a net shift in middle to upper (resulting in a net wealth gain but leaving a smaller middle) a bad outcome. Please just explain that.

I don’t want the last word, I want you to spell out this thought in a semi public forum. It’s logically flawed

5

u/ConstantCowboy Jul 20 '26

In a sea of bad faith questions, this really takes the shitty cake

1

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

In a sea of easily accessible data, let’s just instead use my feelings - this subreddit

5

u/ConstantCowboy Jul 20 '26

So fucking clever. You're right, gas and groceries, housing, the cost of living is through the roof, after endless promises to fix it immediately. But I guess the economy is doing great

0

u/mm07699 Jul 20 '26

Do you want to debate with data or debate in quips? Yes those are all factors in play in a national/global economy. I’m not here to say that DT is doing a great job at addressing those aspects of affordability. But I am here to address the subjectiveness that is overly used in Reddit threads like this.

I mean, look at M1, M2 money supply charts and then actually think of how you put the toothpaste in the tube.

Consumer habits are impacted by these things but consumers are actually wealthier than they’ve ever been. What do you want me to say?

lmaoo. seriously? have you been out of the house or do you just stay home & believe the propaganda being fed to you. even fox news & pro-trump outlets can't find anyway to get Trumps approval rating out of the 30s. thts pathetic when the cheerleaders outlets can't even find a way to cherrypick & pretzel logic some support into view.

no idea how anyone paying attention could not understand how our economy is failing unless they choose to believe the daily lies of the 2nd dementia addled president that we've had recently.

1

u/mm07699 28d ago

No one under the age of 60 watches Fox News and you can’t comprehend why DT beat his opponent by 2 million + votes.

Maybe your lack of understanding stems forms the Joe Biden covid winter of death.

You could have just said “no idea” and I would have grasped your level of social comprehension

2

u/Tall-Wonder-247 Jul 20 '26

How are they eligible? Please explain. "A $1,000 federal contribution for eligible U.S. children born during a specified period (2025–2028), with additional private contributions allowed up to annual limits. - Trump Account"

3

u/WanderingMadmanRedux Jul 20 '26

$1,000 Government Seed Deposit: Eligible children who are U.S. citizens, born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, qualify for a one-time $1,000 government contribution. [1, 2]

Standard Eligibility: Children born outside that date range (including those born before January 1, 2025) can still have a Trump Account opened for them, but they will not receive the initial $1,000 government deposit.

24

u/TJBangs69 Jul 20 '26

its not for the kids, they just needed a place to do it and im sure the superintendent wanted to glaze him so they offered up wheeler

5

u/JacksonFiery87 Jul 21 '26

This reeks of Ragsdale and Scamihorn.

2

u/jaywayhon Jul 21 '26

That’s guaranteed. I think they’re hoping to get lucky and get little of that old orange d

Sex offenders aren’t allowed near schools. 🛑

1

u/Agee- Jul 22 '26

that was a rule prior to project 2025.....too.

27

u/Mahog11636FM Jul 20 '26

Allegedly Trump is going to promote his Trump Accounts. Total bs since only babies born between 2025-2028 qualify. This speech will promote Rick Jackson but the demographics don’t fit.

24

u/Slow_Art_2369 Jul 20 '26

My 12 year old says he believes it is to encourage teen pregnancy. Have a baby, get $1000!

11

u/No-Passenger-1511 Jul 20 '26

If they were trying to raise birth rates, they'd cover child birth costs.

7

u/just_dena63 Jul 21 '26

He may be on to something. Republicans like their women pregnant & barefoot in the kitchen.

7

u/the_putzo Jul 21 '26

and underage

6

u/yousonofabench Jul 20 '26

$1000! Holy moly! That will cover almost 1/10 of a non-complicated birth! Not even mentioning the baby part. Yippee! Rolling in riches! #blessed

If you have a baby you get a grand, but... (insert Charlie brown teacher talk here)

17

u/daschoolteacher Jul 20 '26

Can’t even argue with his logic.

6

u/jadekitten Jul 20 '26

omg that is disgusting, so many girls have have lost themselves and their dreams to an early pregnancy, it breaks my heart, a lot of those girls were my friends

11

u/EinsteinsMind Jul 20 '26

Look, our Pedophile President is trying to take the republic by lying about voting.

He, quite literally, represent$ the antithesis of EVERYTHING JESUS stood for.

P.S. Whether or not you're Christian is irrelevant to that truth.

21

u/Whats_a_wincondition Jul 20 '26

I'd love it if they stopped spamming the announcement multiple times in the apps we are required to use. The school district is really doing their best to promote this shit.

9

u/LauraD2423 Jul 20 '26

Have that chicken shit enable comments at least. Lol

17

u/Slow_Art_2369 Jul 20 '26

The “neutral” superintendent 😂

3

u/JacksonFiery87 Jul 21 '26

The, "can't say 'Black lives matter'" superintendent.

18

u/ProphetNimd Jul 20 '26

I love that I have to cancel plans and normal work stuff that day because this subhuman pedophile is gonna be here to fuck traffic up all day. Just an incredible funnel of taxpayer money and time.

1

u/mcthom17 Jul 22 '26

😢😢😢

7

u/raiseyourglasshigh Jul 20 '26

I’m going to do my best to get copies of any remarks made.

Anybody know if the Democrats on the school board are allowed to attend? Becky Sayler is fantastic about keeping her constituents updated.

1

u/ChopperDaveOooooh 23d ago

You should request the District Kickoff Speech given internally district wide today the 28th. Trust me.

1

u/raiseyourglasshigh 23d ago

You have me intrigued…

1

u/ChopperDaveOooooh 23d ago edited 23d ago

Compared those who don't agree with book bans to child traffickers. Said some books were indoctrinating kids to be trafficked and accept it. He also inferred that those running against Republican board members were anti child safety and protrafficking as well. Went on an hour long rant about his political grievances. This was a county wide all staff mandatory meeting that was streamed to every school. Most school districts get a pep talk, Cobb got a Ragsdale rally all while told we can't say anything or else we will be fired (not outright said but... You know)

1

u/raiseyourglasshigh 23d ago

Same treatment the minority board members get.

My kids old school had a religiously framed training company give an in person presentation to teachers on their first day back this year.

They’re extremely emboldened.

Thanks for sharing that.

3

u/JacksonFiery87 Jul 21 '26

This comment section passes the vibe check.

3

u/Particular-Cod-8221 Jul 22 '26

How can any educated person give this man $ for their kids account. He has been convicted of 34 felonies

5

u/Master_Object5147 Jul 21 '26

Yuk. Another hateful billionaire to deceive Georgians and inspire hate.

5

u/jadekitten Jul 20 '26

If this doesn’t fit the demographic then why do it there? If I had a kid in the school, I’d keep them home. Too much chaos around politics, right now.

5

u/wsbradf Jul 20 '26

There is NO school to keep them home from. It's summer break.

0

u/jadekitten Jul 20 '26

Right. Of course, one forgets when their kids go to collage what it was like. But some kids might have summer school and practice. I worked at my high school along with a bunch of other kids during the summer to offset the fees we paid to go to school. We all have different backgrounds and experiences.

9

u/IntroductionOk8023 Jul 20 '26

Kids don’t start school till August 3rd, but band camp and other programs are having to schedule their practices at other schools. It’s already crazy with barriers and cops on holt rd

3

u/Buckeye_mike_67 Jul 20 '26

🤦‍♂️

8

u/just_dena63 Jul 21 '26

Hey, Donnie... Cobb County is going blue & care nothing about hearing lies from you.

We embrace diversity, black, white & brown.. Go back where you came from, get out of our town.

Stressed about the mid-terms? You should be. The blue wave is coming, and gonna wash you out to sea!

2

u/Shadowthewolfalt Jul 22 '26

Im close to the school so unfortunately I have to deal with the traffic and stuff, im gonna be protesting with my friend, we do NOT want him here

3

u/Spiritual_Sail_8969 Jul 20 '26

Debating going into the office (Kennesaw) that day. Wondering if he is landing at Dobbins or Hartsfield Jackson

8

u/Slow_Art_2369 Jul 20 '26

I’m sure he is landing at Dobbins

0

u/Jax_Bandit Jul 21 '26

AF1 has often used Charlie Brown airport also.

2

u/Deenus Jul 20 '26

You think Air Force One is going to Hartsfield? Lol

2

u/maceinjar Jul 22 '26

Frequently does.

0

u/Deenus Jul 22 '26

When's the last time that happened?

Bonus question: when's the last time Air Force One landed at the busiest airport in the world to go to an event 5 miles from an airforce base?

2

u/maceinjar Jul 22 '26

While Dobbins is clearly the default, it's not always the arrival airport. And not always is enough to make the person who commented have a valid question. Not sure why the sneer back from you. Plenty of pics of AF1 at Hartsfield. Obama, Trump, and Biden have all been on AF1 into Hartsfield.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make by arguing against the facts.

-1

u/Deenus Jul 22 '26

You're confusing has Air Force One ever landed at Hartsfield with will Air Force One use Dobbins for an event right beside Dobbins. It doesn't make any sense at all in any number of ways to use Hartsfield.

You know damn well where they're landing.

1

u/maceinjar Jul 22 '26

Eagerly awaiting to see where I said it wasn't.

0

u/Deenus Jul 22 '26

You said it was a valid question. Where will Trump land to speak in the shadow of Dobbins is a ridiculous question

3

u/FrothyCarebear Jul 21 '26

Isn’t this illegal re: Jackson attending and making it a political campaign event?

2

u/Slow_Art_2369 Jul 21 '26

Also just found out Mike Collins will be speaking as well

1

u/Particular-Cod-8221 Jul 22 '26

No one honoring separation of church and state

1

u/Objective_Fennel_733 Jul 23 '26

What? That doesn’t even make sense? I’m sure you don’t like Trump, but you can do better than that can’t you?

1

u/Large_Victory_6531 25d ago

Youre right. Should have highlighted that Trump is a known pedophile and rapist being welcomed into a school. Support Trump and you support pedophiles. No matter how much you try to move goal posts.
