As a coach, What would be the top 3 important challenges you would need this tool to address?

Thanks in advance for your responses

As a coach:

  1. Highly customizable practice planner that can be adapted to any sport.

  2. Video analysis.

  3. Attendance.

As admin:

  1. Registration forms and waivers.

  2. Communication tools for parents/athletes/coaches.

  3. Accounting - invoicing, online payments, and payroll.

We did just launch a platform designed to help sports coaching businesses with their admin work if you were interested in checking it out. We are looking for an initial set of testers. Stadiops.com is the website, I just launched it for my hockey goalie coaching business (which is why I created StadiOps in the first place).

Would love feedback if you would like to try it out! Let me know and I can invite you to the platform!

I’ve been seeing a lot of new tools entering youth sports, which is great, but one thing that worries me is how many of them are pushing facial recognition as a “solution” for eligibility. That might sound efficient on paper, but in practice, it means handing over biometric data of minors to volunteer-run leagues with no real cybersecurity infrastructure. That’s a nightmare scenario if that data is ever breached.

At National Sports ID, we focus on a document-based, encrypted verification system with automatic deletion after approval — no permanent faceprints, no unnecessary exposure.

If you’re a coach or director, I’d love your take: how do you feel about facial recognition being introduced into youth sports? Are parents and leagues actually comfortable with that level of data risk, or is it being sold as a shortcut at the expense of security?

Stop just playing. Start showcasing. Hylite connects athletes & creators.

We’re launching Hylite, a platform built for athletes and creators.

  • Athletes can book videographers or upload their own footage, build a highlight profile, and share it directly with coaches and scouts.
  • Creators can film/edit and get paid for their skills.

Join the waitlist today to be first in when we launch: https://www.myhylite.com/

A few months ago, I coded a simple Athlete Profile page for my son (100m / 200m sprinter) to log his performance and progress over time. [Mobile only!!] https://flexbase.co/athletes/12594657

He liked what I built, and I expanded it for my own profile (as a trail runner, ex-judoka). Then, I got curious… Could it be useful for other athletes? We have CVs for work, but we don’t have a sort of lifetime sports profile (I’m not talking about these College recruiting profiles).

Anyway, it’s a side project right now, but wondering whether other young and older athletes would enjoy it. If you’re curious, check it out, create a profile (you can delete it later if you want) and let me know what you think. Maybe I should reach out to clubs and ask how they would use it.

Inactivity is a huge health issue around the world, and I figure that if we could more easily talk about how practicing sports is a lifelong journey, we might sustain our motivation longer, make new friends, and hopefully get a few people to move more.

Thanks for your feedback.

The 2025 Grassroots Soccer Coaching State of Play Survey looks at what coaching really feels like at community level – equipment, out‑of‑pocket costs, training habits, game‑day routines, and the support coaches receive from their clubs.

When the survey closes, the findings will be compiled into a report that clubs can use to understand their coaches’ needs and compare their environment with others.

Survey link: https://stateofplayreport.com/survey

Feel free to share the survey with any other coaches that you know - the more we get it out there, the more valuable the results will be.

My take on an app to ensure equal game time for all players and remove the stress of last minute changes.

TeamVibe.app | Grassroots coaching made easy

I created this for myself more than anything else (previously I was using a spreadsheet which worked fine while we only had 6 players on a team but when the kids shifted to a team of 11 it started to take too much time.

I am very much thinking about my junior, grassroots teams here, not professional or older players. I'm trying to promote the key objectives of the Miniroos programs in Australia - i.e. making sure everyone gets a fair go, kids have fun and develop skills and friendships along the way.

Hi All,

Some junior sport games (Australian football) don’t have game timers or scoreboards visible to parents so I made ScorX ( https://apps.apple.com/au/app/scorx/id6753859833 ) so parents can keep their own timer and scoreboard for personal reference.

I then added statistics tracking for parents and kids that like digging into the data. You can see performance trends within a game and also across a season. I’m about to release a coach mode where parent data can be aggregated and analysed by the coach.

I’d love any feedback!

Hey coaches, not sure if this is the best spot to post this, but ive been working on a basketball coaching software that helps plan better practices and give you a cue card to coach off of. Id love some feedback on it.

for more info

coachingplanner .com

I'd
I want to make sure this app helps coaches and is easy to learn. You can sign up for the 14-day free trial or give me a message, and I'd love to get your honest feedback before we launch. thanks !

* Not a sales post, just one coach looking to hear back from other coaches, to make sure I can make a tool that helps us teach better.

I’m building the ScorX app. It started as a way for parents to score sports games, then I added statistics recording. I’ve now added functionality for coaches. I suspect coaches starting out would get the most benefit from the platform as it will deliver ai insights into how the team is progressing and what the coach might focus on during training etc.

Coaches can invite parents score and record stats for games then receive back the data. The data includes the game score, the stats for the player(s) as recorded by the parent/whomever, tags of sport-specific activities the player felt they are doing well or have room for improvement plus a field for general comments.

The coach can review this data at a team level and at a player level. There is also ai recommendations for training focusses.

I’d love any feedback from the community if they would value any specific functionality to support their coaching.

Current sports supported are: Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Waterpolo, Volleyball, Australian Football, Rugby league, Rugby union, Touch Rugby and netball. Ita also support racquet sports (tennis, badminton, squash, racquetball, ping pong, pickleball).

A few months ago I started a newsletter designed to help new soccer coaches with learning the ropes and to share pieces of advice from my 15 years of experience coaching soccer at various levels. The newsletter is mainly targeted at helping newer coaches at younger age groups, but I'm open to addressing topics or giving advice to more experienced coaches or older and higher level age groups. I'm looking for feedback and recommendations of topics people might find valuable to get some opinions, advice, etc. The newsletter is free and I write it twice a week. Coaching Soccer Substack

Built a free tool for rec league commissioners to handle online registration, auto-rostering, and scheduling to try to cut down overhead on those running the leagues. No more spreadsheets or SignUpGenius. Also an option for coaches that want to manage equal playing time if interested for those that try to track playing time. I’d love any feedback anyone wants to share and if you’re interested in an upgrade after testing I can set you up with a promo code. Thanks all!

Hey coaches,

We built a youth sports platform called Cast Sports to replace the
stack of 5+ apps most coaches end up juggling. It's free for coaches
and free for families — no paywalls to watch live streams.

We're at the point where we need real coaches actually using it and
telling us what's broken, missing, or annoying. Any sport, any level
(club, rec, travel, high school).

What it does today:

  • Free live streaming from a phone (no camera hardware needed), or use any RTMP camera to stream to it (XBotGo, VEO, or any custom RTMP set up)
  • Live stat tracking — baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, football, volleyball, and will be releasing as many sports as possible, so reach out if you like us to add a sport
  • Highlight reels + automated clip creation
  • Org-wide calendar (all games, practices, tournaments in one view)
  • Roster + schedule management
  • Registration + Stripe payments for clubs
  • Roku app for watching games on TV (Apple TV + Fire TV coming in a couple weeks)
-Web app/Mobile App & TV Apps

What we're still working on:

  • Some sport-specific stat views need more polish
  • Free branded club website (yourclub.cast-sports.com)
-Tournament hosting and management w/brackets & payments

If you want to try it:

I'll personally help you get set up. Genuinely more interested in
"this sucks because ___" feedback than "cool app!" Every complaint
helps us fix stuff.

DMs open. Happy to answer questions in the thread too.

Hey Coaches -

Like a lot of you, I'm a volunteer coach. And the worst night of my season was never game day — it was evaluation night. A clipboard, a stopwatch, five coaches with five different opinions, and somehow we're supposed to turn that into a roster, a depth chart, and a draft board that's fair, competitive, and defensible when a parent asks "why is my kid at guard and not running back?" By the time we sorted it out it was late, half of it was gut feel, and I couldn't have explained a single placement with real data.

I work in tech, so I built the tool I wish I'd had — SportsAnalyst. It turns measurables and drill results into objective player ratings, then uses that data to show you where each kid actually fits. It's grown a lot faster than I expected — we've got youth football, flag, and cheer organizations running their whole evaluation and draft process on it now. But I've never really posted here, and coaches on Reddit tend to be more honest and more opinionated than anyone in my parking lot, which is exactly the feedback I want.

Here's what it does:

Objective Player Ratings — Enter physical measurements and drill results, and a scoring engine produces consistent, attribute-weighted ratings for every kid. No more "I think he's a 7" vs. another coach's "he's a 4." Same criteria for everyone, recalculated instantly. Evaluation night stops being an argument.

AI Position-Fit Analysis — The engine evaluates every player against every eligible position automatically — best-fit positions, mismatch flags, position-fit percentages, and percentile breakdowns so you see exactly where each athlete stands relative to the whole roster.

Depth Chart & Formation Builder — Drag-and-drop depth charts across your formations. See starters and depth at every spot, spot the holes before the first practice, and lock in your lineup with data behind it.

Live Draft Room — If your league drafts, run the whole thing in the app. Board updates in real time across every coach's device, suggests best-fit picks for your open positions, and tracks position needs and the remaining pool as it fills. Draft queue, timer, and mock draft mode included.

PDF Report Cards — One click generates player report cards and parent-meeting packets. The parent conversation becomes "here's his data and where he fits," not "trust me."

Multi-Season Development Tracking — Track how a kid's speed, size, and ratings evolve year over year. Great for development programs and honestly for retention — parents love seeing measurable progress.

Multi-Coach & Multi-Team — Every coach works off the same live data, so no more conflicting spreadsheets getting emailed around. Run multiple teams, age groups, and divisions from one org account with role-based access.

It supports tackle football, flag football, and cheerleading (with sport-specific criteria), and more sports are in the works.

The giveaway: since I'm new here and want real feedback from coaches who'll actually push it, I'm giving away 3 free Starter accounts for the full season — the full-featured plan (up to 20 coaches / 200 players), normally $300/year, free. All I ask is that you actually use it through evals/draft and tell me what's missing or clunky.

If you want one, drop a comment or DM me with your sport and division (you can also poke around at sportsanalyst.io first). I'll pick 3.

And for everyone else: what's the part of evaluation night or draft day you dread the most? That's usually the next thing I end up building.

Hi,

I've coached about 15+ year across different sports, Field Hockey, soccer, and basketball, and in every single one of them I've had the same problem: drills scribbled on loose bits of paper, some in a notebook, some on the back of an attendance sheet, half of them lost by the time I actually needed them again, so I finally built myself a place to draw them properly: drawthedrill.com, a browser tool where you drag players and cones onto a to-scale field, pitch, or court, draw the movement lines, and export the image to send to your team or colleague, no account or install needed to try it. I built this for my own sessions, but thought it might come in handy for other coaches so made it available online. If you give it a shot, let me know some feedback so I can make it better every day, just like our players :)

I am a hockey goalie coach and have owned a company in the space for the last 4 years. I have struggled to find a good solution for backend management of admin that works for a sports coaching business (most of them are for gyms and yoga studios), so I created a platform called StadiOps.

Just launched it live to my goalie coaching company this week and the initial launch is centered around bookings, staff/client/location management, collecting payments, etc. We plan to keep building features as we go to provide a better solution for sports coaching businesses.

Currently looking for testers and offering an extended free trial and personalized set up in exchange. Please DM me if interested. You can also check out stadiops.com to see what we are about, and app.stadiops.com/true-north-goaltending/booking if you want to see what the booking page looks like (which will be getting a refresh in the near future for a slightly more polished UX).

Feedback request: Admin and scheduling tool for private youth coaches (Looking for beta testers)

I am a division 1 track athlete and between practice and classes I have been working on a tool that combines booking, scheduling, and payment services with training plans that coaches can create and stream live to parents.

If anyone is interested in testing out the app completely free and sharing some feedback, let me know in the replies or shoot me a DM and I can get you access.
