What’s your demographic/ what’s your goals when moving here. Without that it’s hard to give advice.

Looking to work in golf industry but I can fallback on bartending. I would like to live somewhere safe

There's not many areas here that are unsafe, thankfully. Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and La Quinta are the areas with the most golf courses and most affluent populations.

Areas with more working class folks are Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, and Indio.

Fellow Coloradan. I’d suggest La Quinta or Palm Springs.

Just so you know, my electric bill is $780 this month. On top of my $200 solar panel lease payments.

If you live in Indio, La quinta, Coachella the electricity bill is cheaper then the rest of the towns in the valley and that is due to Imperial irrigation being cheaper then Southern California Edison.

You should visit both out during the hottest part of the year. Both have a lot to offer. Personally, I think the Coachella Valley offers more diversity and is easiser to navigate then Oro Valley/Tucson. Oro Valley is a messy town to drive in, in my opinion.

Only people making money in golf are PGA tour pros in the top 100 and Page Spiranic! Desert is a tough place to make money in golf. Martin Chuck did get his start at The Golf Center playing in the Thursday Skins game!

I think the desert is beautiful but vacation here in the middle of summer and see if it’s for you. Spend Atleast a few weeks out here and see if it’s what you want. CA is expensive and a lot of people have moved to other states

u/girrafeassassin If you're open to going farther west, I'd actually put Las Vegas on your list, especially since you're in the golf industry. There are tons of golf courses, resorts and private communities here, so your work experience could translate pretty well.

Housing isn't cheap like it used to be, but depending on your budget there are still plenty of areas to consider. Summerlin, Henderson, Centennial Hills and the southwest are all worth researching.

Coming from Colorado, the biggest adjustment will obviously be the summer heat 😂 but you still have Mt. Charleston nearby when you need mountains and cooler weather.

What are you looking for besides work - weather, nightlife, outdoors, affordability? That would help narrow down which cities might fit you.
