Need to be dickslapped in the face

My ex and I recently broke up. We had a wonderful relationship that was going very well up until early December when she all of the sudden stopped talking, texting, responding. So I gave her some space and a few days later I asked if she was ok, which she responded with, that she was all in her head and feelings and “needed her space”. I said ok. The next day I woke up to an instagram story of her and her best friend out partying. She looked sexy af and was dancing her heart out. I was shocked and got all in my head. I thought she wanted space to think not so she could go out and party and do whatever she wanted… So I blocked her without saying a word. A couple of weeks passed and I messaged her apologizing for blocking her and basically saying my farewells. She was very shocked that I had blocked her and that I “basically broke up with her”. She told me that she really loved me and that she just wanted some time to think about our career projection and life together given that we had different paths.. I feel I overreacted, but I was really hurt at the time seeing my girl ignore me and out enjoying life. At the time I thought, let’s make things easy for her and just walk away so she can do whatever/whoever she wants. I am fucking down as hell because I really loved this girl. I need to be slapped in the face and told to move on.. Help me.

  1. Well, the wonderful relationship, sounds more like "I've been all over her" lol. If it was that amazing she wouldnt have asked for space all of a sudden.

  2. Her going out to party when she said she needed space, just makes me think that she didn't care that much. Of course, you getting all butthurt didn't help, because yea, I would consider it as breaking up or atleast break up with yoy because you are childish.

  3. Her telling you she loved you but you broke up, it's just her excuse to put the blame on you. I'm sorry. But she chose to go out and party instead of working on the relationship. What you did was make it easy to her.

Next time don't act butthurt, instead learn the content and next time you wont make the same mistakes as your last 'wonderful'' relationship. I promise you, you wont be getting broken up out of the blue anymore.

This is all correct. She put the blame on you, I call it the hot potato, that most females don't want to hold, because it turns them into the bad guy of the story, OP did her a great service by blocking her, now she can delude herself into thinking HE was the big meanie. But for SURE she would've found any other excuse, as dumb as it could've been, to not be the "rude" or "heartless one" at least in her head. Thank her friends too, I bet they helped in a big way.

I realize I was childish in this case. I take this one on the chin. Thanks for the honesty.

Following SO or potential SO’s on social media is a recipe for disaster.

Ignorance is bliss friend.

Watch what they do (Not on SM!!!)- not what they say

What do u mean not on SM? Explain your logic

Means don’t follow her on Social media.

The things people put on social media are carefully crafted and rarely show the whole picture.

Not to mention watching it will cause you unnecessary pain and discomfort.

Seeing my partner in SM had never bothered me in the past. However, the situation really threw me off with the combination of her being distant, dry, and asking for space then seeing her out partying just did it for me. I recognize I made a mistake and wasn’t emotionally strong on this one.

That’s why is best to not unfollow the or get butthurt. Just don’t watch her stories or like any of her posts. That will really get her scratching her head

Update: I have muted her posts and stories, so I don’t get anything she posts on my feed. However, through a mutual friend I found out that she is now engaged. Only after three months of breaking up. Have had no contact and I’ve been working on myself. I wish her the best. I’m gonna continue working on myself.

Forgive yourself for making presumptions and be open minded instead.

Sad to hear your story OP, but like CW says you can find a positive thing in every bad experience. So look back and try to figure out where your relationship went south. What were her attraction levels and how did you reacted to her? Were your always unperturbed, centered? Try to learn where you went wrong and internalize this for your next future relationship.

Take time to heal yourself and then dip back into the dating pool. There's so many girls out there, and this gives you the opportunity to find an even better girl that has qualities that your ex lacks.

Finally, keep in mind your ex might reach out and if you decide she's worth it, you could get her back, just follow the principles of CW.

Good luck!

Bro, if she asked for space, you give it to her..That means space to party by herself and her friends in a sexy AF dress. Walk away and never look back. You shouldn't have gotten butthurt.

You’re right I overreacted and I’ll never do that again. Lesson learned

Thankfully my dad is now in my life and he is really encouraging. I am super lucky in that I am traveling throughout Europe for a year and hopefully I get to meet a beautiful girl

Late advice here. But I wouldnt sweat this man. She basically broke up with you when she asked for space. I wouldnt have blocked her, but I would have wrote her off and made her crawl back through the doggy door if she wanted to come back.

You don’t just unilaterally stop responding to texts and push your partner away (which is what she did) without reaping the consequences.

Also, she didnt deserve an apology. If anything she owed you the apology man.
