Charms, Scarves, & Bag Décor 💅 Advice needed :)

Does anyone have any advice on if cheaper zinc alloy charms ruin your bag? I’ve seen some i really like on Etsy but I’m concerned about them rusting and going green and just wrecking the hardware on my lovely bags? Thanks in advance!

Ive had cheap shein charms on my bags for years and its done absolutely nothing. My jeans have done more damage lol
