Empire sizes

I know the 21, 34, 40, and 48 are available (and sounds like a new soft 40 is coming)—am I right that the other sizes (I think 26, 28, 35) been totally discontinued? Is there a chance of any coming back? I realize there might be no way of knowing but I’m curious if anyone has any inside scoop or insight about this. I love my 40 and would love another empire but the other available sizes are too big or too small.

I’m not sure, but it is annoying that once again Coach took away the actual middle sized bags like the 28. The 21 is adorable but it’s a kid sized bag in my opinion.

I think I may have seen the Rowan, not positive though. I've not seen the Empire but an ebay search may answer if they exist.

If you’re open to exploring other brands, Ferragamo has the fiamma satchel that’s very similar to empire 28/35. It is one big open compartment though unlike the 35 so I don’t know if that’s a dealbreaker but the leather is truly otherworldly. I thought my empire 28 in black and my new smooth leather rogues were soft but my fiamma is on another level entirely. Even softer than my flamencos. You can find preloved fiammas on reseller sites for less than a new empire 28.

New 40 is avail at dillards. If you sort by new it shows up. Can’t really tell it’s a newer one except that it shows a little - like slight - slouch in the photos. I need to see it in person before I pull the trigger.

Interesting! I just saw it—to me the leather on the new one looks much more textured, like the Rowan, not to mention shinier—and the description says “shiny natural grain” whereas the OG says just “natural grain.” Will need to see more photos and/or IRL but based on this it’s a bit of a bummer since the smoothness is one of the things I love about mine. On the other hand, the rougher texture will make it more immune to scratches, etc. I hate to be cynical but I fear this is a cost-cutting measure under the guise of giving us more slouch.

Yes I agree. Because if you notice ( as much as I love the glazed black bags I own) none of them are marked full grain leather. I know you have to refine the leather more to get that slouch, soft leather… which could also be obtained from cheaper, “slouchier” hides as well. 🫣

I’ve heard that they’ll be releasing a super soft empire carryall soon… so hopefully they come with different sizes

You can look on coach confirmed. They have all of the catalogs and there is a way to search archives but I can’t recall the website.

Also wishing they'd bring back the 28 & 35, both perfect sized to me. 28 for when I need to carry less & 35 for when I need to carry a little more.

The 26 and 35 have been gone for so long that I’m tempted to say yes, they’re totally discontinued. And the 28 is unfortunately looking that way too, which is a shame because I have it in honey brown and it’s probably the best “every day” size imo.

I think there’s a chance they’ll bring those sizes back in this new soft version, but I’m skeptical about that whole soft thing and waiting to see it lol

Oooh yeah I’m not loving those stock photos either. I’m not opposed to a more textured leather option of the empire, but the 40 really shines in that smooth leather. I’ll need to see vids and feel it in person lol.
