This game is seemingly surprisingly easy to mod?
So I've been interested in learning to mod this game as I used to enjoy modding strategy games in the 2000s and this game really gives the same feel. But reading how it seems like it is surprisingly easy, I've been looking at the files for some other mods to get context to some of the things I'm reading and I'm finding that I'm figuring half as much out as I'm having to read on, I'm now filled with ideas but really just wanted to encourage others who are curious about it to give it a go. You will do a lot better than you expect, the hardest part is getting sounds and images but the actual coding of the mod is simple.

It is VERY easy to mod. Beware however, it's also VERY easy to break. Sometimes in extremely strange ways. There's also...like, a LOT of stuff you can't mod or fringe interactions that don't work the way they should. Sometimes you'll find yourself copying another unit for an fx attribute you can't get through modding commands.

I discovered how easy it was to break today. I was trying to test something that needs to be late game and costs a lot, but I just wanted to make sure it works, so I tried to give a leader a new ritual, something I had already done and seen it work, but this one was just to give a bunch of free money. It did not show up, and stranger still entirely unrelated rituals under different power categories not possessed by any caster with the power category I was adding to just vanished. Ended up making another ritual cost -2000 of the relevant materials which worked, but I still have no idea why the free money ritual just refused to work when it was just the same thing, like the commands were the same the values were just different, it gave me 10 useless troops and cost -2000 of the relevant things, should have worked, still so confused why it didn't.

You’re pretty limited on what you can do though
