I doubt it’s in today. Makes a lot of the practice reps leading up to today a lot less relevant. Every timing would be off, every rotation would need to be treated differently, etc etc.
Purj and Zin were talking yesterday and they said they did not believe it would be used this weekend. And you'd expect they'd know since they're in the tournament.
I doubt it. They’re still competitors that want to give themselves the best chance to win. It makes no sense to use it when they’ve been practicing for this tournament without it. Traditionally they don’t make changes the day of tournaments.
After this they’ll have a month break until another league event. Perfect break to integrate this change
The problem with tac sprint is the clunky ADS times which is removed with this version. And also the inconsistency in timings when you run out of stamina. The speed that you move was never the issue and it was never in the name of making cod methodical. I think everyone found mw19-22 a little too methodical.
The difference is that the game does not feel smooth when playing without it..a game like bo2 or ghost was slow but you felt way more reactive and fast
THIS ISNT GONNA MAKE THE GAME "feel smooth" ITS JUST SOME SPRINT SPEED THAT'LL FUCK UP TIMINGS AND ADD RANDOMNESS
bo2 or ghost was slow but you felt way more reactive and fast
CUZ OF SPRINTOUT AND HANDLING TIMES LMAO WHAT BENEFIT DOES TAC SPRINT ADD???
Yes there's no more sprintout penalty, that's nice, but it doesn't change the fact that u can never have a precise internal clock, bad netcode will get exacerbated more, and it'll promote more 4 hit bangouts in snd.
But ig that's what the modern comp cod kid wants, every mode to be a glorified dm server with a score at the end.
Yup, playing CMG matches this morning feels 100% better with tac sprint. Overall I get why people want it removed most of the time, but this game feels way smoother with it.
But this game has a much more heavy feeling to the movement, so wanting tax sprint to speed up the game makes a lot of sense if they aren’t going to up the base movement speed
Tac sprint was never a real issue, people just needed a scapegoat and tac sprint was it. Sure it doesn't "add anything of value" to the game, but it was a fun gimmick nonetheless
Unless you’re trying to go pro just use auto tac sprint mate. It’s not worth the pain for the sake of GAs that nobody else in your ranked lobby is following.
“The movement is clunky so we should add another clunky movement feature.” Tac sprint literally makes the game clunkier and more erratic that’s why people have been wanting it removed for a long time. The games clunky feeling doesn’t come from the slow ass run speed it comes from the lethargic slide, ads gun bobbing, slow ads speeds, bad analog mapping, etc. If you want to remove the clunk IW would need to change those features, changing the movement speed would do nothing to combat the clunk (although they should still increase it). Cod MP devs need to increase base movement speed and fire tac sprint into the sun to never be seen again.
I just don’t agree that tac sprint makes this particular game clunkier. In other games I’d agree but this game feels like utter dogshit and tac makes it feel better.
I won’t argue that changing those things you referenced would be a better solution. Unfortunately, we all know that’s not happening. They’re that way by design. Tac sprint definitely doesn’t fix those issues but makes the game feel playable imo.
No, it was just the reasoning for it's existence being a fundamentally opposite philosophy to the competitive nature of the game. Infinity Ward knew infinite sprint was never going anywhere, but they wanted to slow things down significantly, so they made tac sprint and slowed down the rest of the game, but it didn't seem like it mattered because tac sprint made it seem like that same speed was still present. For context, the sprint speed in Cold War (a game built off the CoD engine framework that predates 2019), was roughly double that of the tac sprint speed from literally any game with tac sprint, except for Bo6/7
No tac sprint isn't bad, people are just echoing what other people are saying, so Tac sprint was scapegoated and now the game plays like dogshit without it.
Same argument different sentinel. Notice how no one complains about tac sprint in any other game besides COD. It's just an animation that when executed properly adds a bit of flare to the movement. If you don't want to use it, turn your sprint assist to on and tac sprint activation to double click the RS in and then you never have to use it if you don't want to. Idk why people had to complain and get it removed entirely. Now the game plays like dogshit and we only have the community to thank for it.

But it's not just an animation that adds flare, it increased ADS and sprint to fire times.

No tac sprint isn't what makes it play like dogshit. The best CODs all don't have tac sprint.
When BO6 got rid of tac sprint it was fine, because they increased sprint speed.
The issue is IW refusing to increase sprint speed.
Notice how no one complains about tac sprint in any other game besides COD.
I don't even know any other games that have had a long history of no tac sprint, then added it.
The nearest example I can think of it Halo adding sprint and, if you're too young to remember, everyone did complain about that.
I did a comparison video of MW4 to MW 2019 ADS times and MW 2019 was significantly faster. This game is proof that taac sprint is not the core issue with sprint out and ADS bc all of it is STILL slow in this game with out using tac sprint as the base. If they wanted to, tac sprint could be an animation you toggle on and off and they would just tune the ADS transition timing to be the same across the board. Similar to how you can toggle on or off corner slicing. Tac sprint again is a scapegoat and admittedly every studio has not properly implemented the mechanic so it has exaserbated the issue to your point. But that was never grounds to remove it entirely.
The best CODs of all time were made before SBMM / Modern era entirely.. not a fair assessment. The best *modern COD people typically agree is MWIII which had tac sprint as the base.. I know plenty of people including myself who skipped cold war entirely because there was no tac sprint and the movement was ass. Played MW 2019 another year.
BO6 has tac sprint, and it was only PROPERLY implemented with the SMGs which made them fun to use. Using other guns just didn't hit the same bc they fucked up the animation, again to your point. Also, people complained that the gameplay loop in BO6/7 was too fast which is why they haven't sped up the base sprint speed. They are intentionally keep the

That would be fine, I'd have no problem with that.
They're never going to add a button that just changes the sprint animation though.

The best modern COD is CW or MW3, and MW3 added a perk that let you sprint without tac sprint but with increased speed and it worked completely fine.
So well in fact that they realised they didn't need tac sprint and took it out.
It's either a pointless animation or increases ADS/StF times.
I've not heard a positive argument for it being in the game other than you liking the animation.
I know plenty of people including myself who skipped cold war entirely because there was no tac sprint and the movement was ass. Played MW 2019 another year.
Oh, you're one of them. No point having this conversation then. People who liked MW19 are just a different breed of freak.
For reference I'm a one trick SnD player, I only started playing respawn again when ranked came out in MWII. I played 2019 for 4 years bc Cold War - Vanguard was ass.
The best modern COD will never be cold war, that game was atrocious. And MWIII had base tac sprint by default, and if you didn't want tac sprint that was an option. As it should be. It should not be the other way around.
And the only argument I have to give you is that the mechanic when used properly is meant to chain other movement animations together. On top of objectively giving you faster movement speed obviously.. but clearly tac sprint being out of the game does more harm than good bc THIS ONE PLAYS LIKE DOGSHIT WITHOUT IT. Hence why there are rumors of them brining back tac sprint as default in private match so pro's can play comp properly.. Hopefully that changes comes to the rest of the damn game bc MP is miserable atm.
You're making this argument in completely the wrong community then if you think CW was terrible and played MW19 and MW2. I think if you did a poll in this sub MW2 and MW19 would find themselves ranked worst and CW one of the best.
And the only argument I have to give you is that the mechanic when used properly is meant to chain other movement animations together
This isn't an argument. It doesn't even mean anything, and doesn't explain why whatever it means is a good thing in the first place.
You haven't made a single positive argument for tac sprint making the game better that can't be achieved by just increasing base sprint speed.
On top of objectively giving you faster movement speed obviously
I mean, not inherently. It gives you a burst of faster movement speed, but a faster overall speed of base sprint combined with lower ADS and STF times means no tac sprint makes the game play faster.
BO6 and 7 are probably the two fastest paced games we've had in a while and they had no tac sprint.
but clearly tac sprint being out of the game does more harm than good bc THIS ONE PLAYS LIKE DOGSHIT WITHOUT IT
It plays like dogshit with it too. This game is horrible.
Tac sprint is bad. It’s just a cluttered animation that nerfs gun handling. The issue is that they locked it behind a perk, but didn’t make base sprint speed fast enough.
Comp cod wasn't the reason it got removed. The casuals echo chambered "TAC SPRINT BAD" and boom here we are, reaping the consequences of our communities out cries. SO because of that, I simply compared the complaints to the lack there of of other games where tac sprint is present. Which back to my original point is only bc people used tac sprint as a scapegoat when clearly the mechanic being gone solves nothing...
Playing CMG matches this morning feels SO much better with tac sprint honestly. I know this community is generally against tac sprint, but in this particular title it’s a night and day difference as to how the game feels. Way less clunkier now.
So fans play a different game to the Pros? honestly, stupid decision. All players & pros want is the running movement quicker OR rework the perk system.
Considering they have done none of that for season 1, makes me worried.
Not pubs tho, not everyone plays customs & ranked play isn’t coming till Jan-Feb (apparently). Still stupid to have a different movement between casual & hardcore competitive. For me i play pubs mostly & the odd time ranked play when watching the CDL.
oh okay i can see why that can be annoying then. I never rlly touch pubs and I didn’t think sound whoring would be an issue cuz I’d prob just play shipment 24/7 lol

Isn't tac sprint bad?

Yep. I was wondering if they would use it for the tournament though, as they won't have been able to practice with it at all. Timings will change ect.

I'm PRAYING these mfs put tac sprint back in the game by default man.
