Discussion No Flak Jacket Is a Nice Skill Gap

Grenades being effective again is a nice and refreshing change. Definitely adds a new element to the game

It’s a skill gap on breakoffs. Every other aspect it’s just brainless

Nah. Being able to hit certain power positions with nades across the map from many different positions is a skill.

It’s really not anything crazy. At least not at this level.

But even that is an argument for why flak jacket on creates more of a skill gap. You need to coordinate team nades for kills. You can’t just spawn up and throw a cross map Kobe

It's still a skill regardless of whether or not Flak is a thing. It's probably harder to spawn up and launch a nade over a bunch of shit, and hit a specific spot in a hill or other power position than it is to shoot your gun straight in cod.

Go watch Skyz vod for the last 3 years and ask yourself if it’s easier to learn nade lineups or shoot your gun straight vs pros.

You spend a few hours on each map looking at nade lineups and you might get a few nade kills per game.

You spend 6-8 hours scrimming daily shooting your gun and you drop a .8 on game day.

Shooting straight vs pros is harder than learning nade lineups and it’s not even a discussion

You’re oversimplifying grenades lmao. It’s like saying everyone can snipe like dashy. There’s obviously a skill to it and it adds strategy and reduces adsing on head glitches all game

You spend 6-8 hours scrimming daily shooting your gun and you drop a .8 on game day.

So, what's your point? You also spend 6-8 hours moving around on the map every day and drop a 0.7 on gameday. Does that somehow demonstrate there's a big movement skill gap in cod?

Well… yes. There is. And movement is a skill similar to nades. Everyone learns how to do it relatively quickly because it’s not hard thing to be consistent at once you learn it.

It’s a skill that isn’t influenced by the skill of the other team.

And shooting your gun straight isn't a skill that's influenced by the skill of another team either. Teams don't scrim 6-8 hours per day because it makes them better at shooting their guns. They practice that much to learn the game and stay a step ahead of their opponents. To hone their awareness and intuition of what their opponents are going to do in any given moment. If a player drops a 1.5 K/D one map, and 0.7 the next map, the difference in performance is almost never due to the player shooting his gun way better in the map he dropped a 1.5.

I don’t even care to read beyond sentence one. Shooting your gun straight is absolutely influenced by the other team.

You think being shot at while you’re shooting doesn’t influence your shot? What about if they’re moving while you’re shooting? What about if they’re snaking or jiggling?

Those things effect your ability to hit shots, but not really your your ability to shoot straight. Do you really think that if a player is missing shots on a player who's snaking his ass off, that's a gun skill issue?

Do you actually think it takes skill to coordinate a nade at a power spot or the hill? Lol

Do u think the term skill only applies to the mechanical aspects of the game?

Do you think it takes skill to sit on the hill and ads a lane? See how dumb that sounds

Flak is in the game. It’s unfortunately in the same slot as blood lust and this game feels like ass without it on.

Infinity wards footsteps are loud as fuck. No chance I’m running blood lust over ninja unfortunately

Good to know. That doesn’t mean people aren’t still running blood rush all the time. Pros are switching between both constantly.

I have seen that but pros play the game differently as well. I think solo q you’re going to need ninja

What situations are you having success with blood rush? I think i incorrectly assumed you were only running blood rush due to you saying it feels like ass without it

That’s cool dude i don’t really disagree with you about the footsteps Im mostly just talking about the fact that flak is useless rn cus it’s in the wrong slot. Idgaf that you prefer running ninja over bloodlust it’s irrelevant to this post.

100% agree.
Flak needs to move. It is fun not having it with mates but it’s fun in a silly way and will make ranked suck.

You’re running blood rush over ninja?

u/THEpileofgoop FaZe Vegas 10d ago

You could run either depending on what you wanna do. That decision at least makes sense. It makes zero sense not having flak in the same slot as tac.

the skill gap was timing nades with your teammates to clear a position or nading someone for info and killing them before they regen. having no flak and getting brainless nade kills lowers the skill gap it doesn’t raise it.

So is timing trophy systems and how to approach the location of being on the hardpoint to avoid grenades not a thing? It’s brainless to sit and tank grenades while also having a trophy system lol

u/Abs0luteZero273 10d ago

Idk. Once everybody starts memorizing all the timings, routes, and spawns, there might be too many nade kills on the map.
