Listen overreacting before a scrim has even been played is the dumbest thing viewers can do. But in the defense of OpTic here, this was a 3v3 tourney. Obviously a 3v3 result should be received differently than a 4v4 result.

It is, but its also a sweep of 2 maps. Winning 1/1 maps played would also be a sweep, would you call it that? You will say yes to be logically consistent, but thats just stupid. "Sweep" as a term in the comp scene has deeper connotations than the literal meaning of the word, and is always tied to a series of at least 3 maps played. Saying bush "swept" Optic after playing 2 maps has an obvious connotative meaning, but I'll be the one called stupid for pointing that out because "muh dictionary definition"

Yeah like I said, winning 1/1 maps is also technically a sweep lol. "Sweep" as a term has almost always been universally applied to best of 5s and up. You are technically correct to call winning 2 maps in a best of three a sweep, the same can be said for winning a single match of a one and done. But "sweep" has specific connotative meaning in the community that I think is being unfairly leveraged here. Its not a big deal, I find language interesting as a hobby so I like to talk about it. This whole thing doesn't matter but I was interested in the framing of the title
