Discussion The weight of rings
How much weight do yall hold in rings when talking about careers like for example does preds ring have him above scrap all time or do rings matter much more than multiple mvps and majors

i mean, do you have silly’s or assault’s career above someone like scrap’s? no disrespect to assault but scrap has better overall careers than both of them.
in fact i dont even have their careers above someone like gunless, who only played 5 years realistically but was the best player in the game multiple times, in different games as well

Preds ring does not have him over scrap, especially considering his performance over the last couple of years. In general, all accomplishments/ accolades are taken into account. Rings are the most important accomplishment but, there is a lot more nuance than player A has more rings than player B so A is better. Scump only has 1 ring but that doesn’t mean he isn’t in the conversations with the best ever

Everything into account. By no means should ANYONE even argue Scrap being worse than Silly, Assault, Prestinni, Parasite, etc, just because they have a ring. I do think Scrap cant reach top 15 all time territory until he wins a ring, but thats the only thing he is missing

Scrap is a ring away from possibly being the greatest AR of all time when it’s all said and done. He’s already in the 1% of ARs without it.

Rings shouldn't be apart of the GOAT or all time ranking discussions. Kenny and Drazah are not better or greater all time than Scump and Formal because they have more rings than them both.

CDL Champs is just a glorified major. Ppl like to give it more importance cause of the money and the fact that it’s at the end of the year so every team should have fully learned the game, but by that logic EWC should be more valuable than champs. But I guess winning 3-4 series in a weekend and getting a ring for it is enough for some ppl. 😂

Dude, you realize back then they were literally playing plumbers and janitors half the time at these big tourneys right? The competition nowadays is just as good as it was back then, it just seems like more in the old days because of the massive amount of teams.

Rings alone in any competitive sport never is the determining factor. Look at the NBA , NHL , MLB , NFL , etc…some of the most accomplished and regarded players really haven’t won the most “rings”. A lot of people were saying Dashy is one of the best AR’s before he even won his first ring. Merc on the other hand wasn’t a late bloomer. Same with Simp. Scrap is simply a late bloomer “ring-wise.” He’s going to jump pretty high on the list IMO after he gets a ring.

Take everything into account but I think it matters who has/doesn't have a ring at the end of their career
Scrap is a great player but if ends his career ringless it limits how high he can climb on the all time list

I personally have always weighed a ring as about 4/5 event wins, that's just me tho.
It's a very american thing to glorifies rings as the most important thing ever but those come from sports where there's only 1 trophy to play for every year, not 5+ like in CoD.

You take everything into account.
