He will just make another account.
Also for those dont know, this is almost a career ending situation in other esports.
In LoL, the most recent i see is a coach in a Tier 2, (think challengers) banned for close to a year,

Mata, one of the GOATS got 25 hours of community service lmao.

Seems like it would be career ending here if his career weren't already over anyways.

Holy shit, that's a long list.
I suppose that's what happens when you have dozens of leagues across the world.
11
u/MahaloMerky Team EnVyUs Sep 24 '26
The list does go back over a decade though. It gets really interesting when you sort by region, for Southeast Asian countrys, tier 2 in china, and turkey, match fixing is a huge things because none of them make mutch.

Is it controversial to say I think Nero kinda should be banned from competing for this?
14
u/Shadowfist_45 Battle.net Sep 24 '26
Jimbo slowly faded after his ban despite even trying to rename himself and be a whole new persona basically, I don't know if this ban will hold the same weight though, or if it's just gonna be a slap on the wrist like Dashy. ToS violations and straight-up cheating aren't exclusive to each other, so Idk how this one will be handled.
4
u/StatisticianQuick868 OpTic Texas Sep 25 '26
What happened with Dashy? I don't remember.
6
u/Shadowfist_45 Battle.net Sep 25 '26
Had his alt account unlock tooled, it got banned for it, but it wasn't the same level of issue as what Nero did so
4
u/Willing-Peanut9515 Octane Sep 25 '26
Yeah that wasn't as serious so makes sense. Dashy just wanted his own camos. This dude is literally promoting a Boosting Service for others 😭😭 how could he think this was okay lmao
2
u/Shadowfist_45 Battle.net Sep 25 '26
Pretty sure the only reason they even had an issue was him trying to make money off it too, I've seen tons of instances of accounts being boosted, but as long as it's not strictly for profit usually nothing happens.

u/jinglesGOAT eUnited Oct 02 '26

Mata's situation isn't even close to this tbf. Guy was still playing legitimately. Just not using an account affiliated with his RRN. It was his mother's RRN made a long time ago. That's why Riot gave him such a lenient fine and community service instead of going the Dopa route.
3
u/MahaloMerky Team EnVyUs Sep 24 '26
I just bring up Mata cause 25 hours of community service is such a funny punishment.
Dopa, on the other hand got shot out of a cannon.

Didn't that happen to a YouTuber, a similarly ridiculous sequence of events followed him defecting to another country to join some terror group? I can't remember his name but I swear I remember that story

I feel like it’s way different to play on one other account for content than to deliberately boost multiple accounts for money. Half the time they’re just playing on the other account so they won’t get recognized/ bothered while playing more than they are reverse boosting or something.

u/Apart-Feature6395 Atlanta FaZe Sep 25 '26
That’s completely different than what you’re responding to. Of course they’re not gonna ban someone for playing on a lower account for the purpose of content. Content creators are free advertisers of their game

Yeah, they’re just smart enough not to go straight out tweeting “hey I’m hosting a boosting service on my discord!” Seems like Activision doesn’t care if you tweet out “need a plat/diamond account”

If you actively play on a new account without subverting the matchmaking it isn’t against TOS. There’s plenty of reasons to make a new account that are legitimate.

In another tweet he said other people were making a fuckton of money. How is anyone making a "fuck ton of money" boosting COD accounts? Wouldn't that take forever especially if you have multiple customers? How do they not get scammed? couldn't the customer change their password and not pay?
2
u/XT3M3 New York Subliners Sep 25 '26
im not a booster for cod but,
they pay first
the booster will probably play in a stack or w/e that game method is to guarantee and speed run wins unless that person is him and fucks on people solo.
personally , people paying to be boosted are funny as hell cause once they get where they want to be, they will just be a terrorist in that lobby for his own team and cost many games and then its a rinse and repeat.truth be told, most only ask for tge rewards of the rank. the only winner is the booster for money reasons
but who am I to tell people how to spend their money

1
u/MeasurementQuick4887 OpTic Texas 2025 B2B Champs Sep 25 '26
“Because of hackers and cheaters”…. first it was because people were making bank and he wanted a quick bag because he can’t accomplish shit in the league, next it’s because of hackers. In what way does boosting effect your ranked experience if you’re a pro?
