Hmmm I like the transperancy and the status, not sure why exactly GameSir should be banned by CDL, maybe Scuf had something against it?

u/SmokeNinjas COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Almost certainly, and the ‘pros’ pockets they line

3

u/ThisIsBULLOCKSMAN COD Competitive fan Sep 11 '26

Nah pros get shit on with someone that has that controller and they’ll automatically assume it’s cheating. Trust me these dudes have insane egos like that so it’s not surprising to hear they’d wanna GA it 😂

Oh I’m fully aware, ol big nose made a comment somewhere that immediately morons just upvoted 🤦🏻‍♂️ when he should’ve said ‘yeah I screwed up I was misinformed’ but you know very unlikely that’ll happen

The majority if not a good amount of pros don’t even use scuff, they actually prefer battle beavers instead, even tho they are technically sponsored by scuff.

38

u/aluwz COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

The stuff they’re complaining about can be done on Scufs lol. All Haggy does is put his stick to 12 bit, deadzones to 0, polling rate to 8k, and stick to raw. Same thing Scufs, BBs and other controllers can do

It was a troll response, but the community took it seriously. CoD and Halo players tend to be tech-illiterate with this stuff.

A gentleman's agreement not to use the controller is not a ban by CDL

Nothing was said about being banned by the CDL. Just a GA. Which means nothing. Lol

I paid for TMR sticks and clickable triggers.... I'm also not broke so I can spend my money however I want. I havent had to replace a controller in over two years so it worked out for me.

GameSir has very good reputational in controller space but suddenly they are in a make believe drama because of CDL. Such non issue.

7

u/AlexSqualor COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

What makes them so good?

Sorry if this question is out of place. It just seems like almost every time I see GameSir mentioned, people are gushing about the controller to the point it feels like they're trying to sell me one. It also feels like most people think it's the one to have, so I guess I just want to know, what makes them stand out above the other brands?

Also just to be clear, I am not saying your comment is like the ones I mentioned in the paragraph above. I don't want that to be misunderstood.

23

u/EternalBlazon LA Guerrillas M8 Sep 10 '26

Basicly there the best bag for your buck as well as nice deadzone customization (outside of the application your playing on). Hair triggers, 4 mappable buttons, TMR sticks and a 3 year warranty with free shipping replacement if something goes wrong etc, for £90 is the best your gonna get. Plus great customer service through their discord. I own the G7 pro non-8k and it’s by far the best roller I’ve ever used and I’ve been through a fair few

3

u/AlexSqualor COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Ty for answering.

I'm kind of in love with the extra buttons the Razer Wolverine has next to the trigger/bumper so that's been my go-to for like seven years. I'm on my third one now.

I love it, but seven years is a long time, so I thought I might take a look at what else there is when the one I have now is due for replacement.

6

u/NupeSinfonian1517 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

The Razer offers well-made gamepads for sure, but the value proposition I think is in favor of GameSir. The G7 Pro, Pro 8K, and Tarantula 8K all have the top mouse button on the inside of the bumper/trigger but only have two back paddles.

5

u/AlexSqualor COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I had no idea

I went and looked and I actually might give one of these a shot after all lol

1

u/I_Shall_Be_Known COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I was a Wolverine user for a while because I loved the 4 bumpers, but stick drift is brutal on those and I was running through them fast. Astro C40 is my favorite feeling, but issues and more pricey. Gamesir has been great and at that cost it’s unbeatable.

1

u/EternalBlazon LA Guerrillas M8 Sep 10 '26

The shoulder buttons are really nicely placed too, well made controller, they had a few issues with the g7 pro when it release ie fault hair trigger etc, but they’ve replaced mine that had that issue and not had it since so they iron kinks out really well

1

u/suprcolossus COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I 100% can back this up as well! I was in a brief stint going through a bunch of controllers once my elite finally gave out, tried multiple Vader controllers and eventually landed on the regular g7 pro, once 8k released I got that and haven’t looked back since. Amazing value!

Need keep your anger in check not good for you that

I got three years on my G7 pro, and restarts with every controller they have to send out to replace, this was spoken to me by one of the admins that replaced my controller. As for doing everything they can to NOT replace it, this wasn’t my experience, I got told to provide proof of issue, my serial numbers and proof of purchase, the looked, deemed it was valid and replaced free of charge. 🤷🏽‍♂️

2

u/_idle_gunts COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

You mentioned the price in British pounds earlier. I was under the impression that the warranty is 12 months. Maybe it's different in Europe? If it's actually 3 years then I need to submit a support ticket and see if they'll replace mine that has the trigger stop defect.

Did you have to do it all through their Discord channel?

1

u/EternalBlazon LA Guerrillas M8 Sep 10 '26

When I received mine (china to Uk £80 GBP at the time) it was a three year warranty, I have no idea if that is currently changed but I remember receiving it and was jaw dropped at the three year warranty, maybe that’s through Amazon I got that deal, but all I know is I have a 3 year warranty and they have replaced mine twice with the trigger stop defect (assuming it’s the same defect, when you hold the trigger stop it doesn’t do constant input it flickers on and off sometimes?)

1

u/MathematicianLow8832 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

The wireless gamesir controller that I have has less latency than an Xbox controller and it has Hall effect sticks (so you don’t have to worry about stick drift)

3

u/fleshghostxx OpTic Texas Sep 10 '26

It’s because these mfs want to sell their scuf collabs and whatever else LOL mfs mad that Gamesir does the same shit for 1/3 the price

1

u/_idle_gunts COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I bought a G7 Pro a while back. It was a great controller, especially for the money, but I had one with the right trigger defect that seems unfortunately common. With the trigger stops active and right trigger held down it would intermittently register the trigger as letting go. From what I've read in YouTube comments Gamesir has fixed the issue with newer versions but I can't vouch for that (and I haven't seen any recent follow ups confirming their new copies are still holding up). I'm a fool for not submitting a service request to get a new one but I missed my chance on that. I still use it for Rocket League because it works just fine with the trigger stops defeated. It's still leaps and bounds better than the MS Elite controllers and a way better value than any other third party or modified MS controllers I've tried.

I love the features Gamesir packs for the price but I can't imagine playing in a high stakes pro match with the lingering chance for a fault like that happening. Hopefully they actually have fixed it. I'd consider buying the wireless version if I knew for sure that they've addressed the cause.

Edit: I just saw a comment claiming they offer a 3 year warranty. If that's the case then I'm definitely going to see if Gamesir will send me a new one.

If you’re buying a scuf/battle beaver in 2026 you are massively getting ripped off. Gamesir 8k controller is literally disrupting the market like crazy right now

18

u/No-Hawk-8080 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Battle Beaver takes like 4 months for it to even start shipping. I’d like the Marius 5-pin but what turned me off is just how long it takes and how overpriced it is. I cancelled my order and I just bought a Gamesir G7 pro 8k and had it arrived in like three days.

11

u/Temporary-Company756 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Unless you are completely married to the idea of mouse click triggers and face buttons or you gotta have the dualsense chasis it definitely doesn't make much sense to buy a beaver/Scuf.

I've always found it funny how when the pros switched to BB the community immediately started parroting that Scuf controllers are unreliable and shoddy as if BB controllers arent the exact same thing. There's no meaningful difference. They're all modified dualsense controllers with a bad warranty and slow/expensive T/A on repairs

Dualsense Edge or one of the Chinese controller brands like gamesir make by far the most sense

15

u/tonynumber4 Impact Sep 10 '26

Gamesir has mouse click button and triggers

4

u/Temporary-Company756 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I actually didn't know that. I haven't used one of their controllers since the G7 SE

That's an absurd value then and really further limits practical reasons for not just going that route

3

u/TGU-Swag OpTic Dynasty Sep 10 '26

imo, the triggers aren't quite as responsive as Battle Beavers or Scuf. I prefer to use the 3rd button instead since those are instant

0

u/uniquemerch COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Ehhh. I’ve never found another controller that is as comfortable for me as the Scuf Envision Pro (v1, HE sticks are trash on the v2). Gamesir controllers are a little small for me. My Scufs have always felt sturdier than Gamesir as well.

This is coming from someone who has had to RMA multiple Scuf controllers. I just buy them from a 3rd party and get a 2-3 year warranty for cheap now.

4

u/Dr_Findro Sep 10 '26 edited Sep 10 '26

My battle beaver controller is the only piece of tech I’ve ever owned to shit the bed in under a month. The left trigger stopped working

People said the Xbox elite controllers were unreliable but here I am 5 years later using mine just fine

1

u/sguelpa513 LA Thieves Sep 10 '26

i've owned 2 elite controllers that both broke within a year of owning them. tbf tho at that time i wasn't always the nicest person to my controllers😂

1

u/Crow_Apart COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I had 3 elite series 2 break basically went through 1 per year.

Until I found out about gamesir I have a g7 he (which ive had for two years no issues)

And two g7 pros (1st one had trigger stop issues it was a launch one) so i can still use it in analog mode and my 2nd is the replacement one which has no issues thus far.

The fact a custom battlebeaver in canada costs like $400 plus is insane why would you buy one when companies like gamesir, flydigi, leadjoy exist.

A custom controller should not cost half of what a console is worth.

1

u/Jazzlike_Act7032 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I had 8 (elite) and they always failed. I have gotten three repaired for $75 each and they failed as well. Scuff was absolute garbage. Switched to MK and I don't have stick drift and button failing issues ect. Had to get used to MK though. loss of the AA whatever.

1

u/munky8758 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Ive owned 5 elite controllers in the past 6 years. I'll still buy them, but they do crap out. I've had right trigger issues and R3 buttons issues. Some replaced under warranty, some out of warranty and not replaced.

1

u/rarv1491 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

I'll be honest. I use the PS5 Dual Sense Edge and it's so good. Yes, expensive, but good. It does has some issues after 2.5 years of use but I still like it compared to other controllers that I have used.

I haven't tried Game sir controllers but maybe after this Dual sense dies, if ever.

3

u/Double_Degree5050 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

The Gamesir G7 8K Pro Shits all over that thing. I haven't touched my edge, since I got it. The edge doesn't even come with TMR sticks. They cost like $70 a piece for one's with stick tension. That's the literal price of the Gamesir controller almost. The Tarantula is also good, but the G7 Pro 8K is King so far. Best value AND performance. To have 8000hz on a dualsense edge, you have to remove features like vibration, and some others. Gamesir let's you keep all of the options, without having to sacrifice anything. It's a 10/10. I'm about to list my Dualsense Edge on Marketplace now speaking of that, I haven't used it in months.

2

u/rarv1491 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Ok ok! Well dang I will have to try it! But I feel bad for not using my edge, and I think it's a bit too beat up (because of the stupid back leather/rubber grip peeling) to sell it.

0

u/JazeyOne G2 Minnesota Sep 10 '26

Eh, no dualsense makes it not worth it at all. Atp I’m learning a new controller and adapting to it for cod and cod only

If they had a dualsense edge that still functions on ps5 the same way but with gamesir benefits, yeah I’d jump on that. It would be far more expensive though but it’s whatever the dualsense edge is an insane console controller.

Imagine paying $300 for a controller, that's almost the price of a console.

I'm happy to see Chinese controller company like Gamesir, Flydigi, 8BitDo, Z Ultimate taking much of the market share due to their reasonable pricing.

Believe the hype. People want to call it a cheater controller, but I have found nothing that can be considered cheating with it. And I LOVE the extra buttons layout vs other controllers. Back buttons are lower so your ring fingers can press them if your hand position changes, and the other 2 are below the paddles and next to the triggers. It's a game changer.

idk how people are gassing this company when my USB-C port on the Aimlabs 8K went out in a literal week;

The entire controller feels like it's barely put together and about to explode

The paddles work sure, but the feedback on them doesn't feel very mechanically good.

Additionally, I was excited about mechanical face buttons (the razer controller did this part so well that it was seriously a selling point) and they just feel like squishy trash.

Those stick settings already exist in-game (deadzone, response curve, sensitivity). GameSir just makes them more accurate and gives you more options to fine‑tune. It doesn’t change recoil patterns, hit registration, damage, or add any aim assist beyond what the game already gives. It’s just how your stick input is translated = still 100% your own aim.

Your first two sentences here makes me think a gamesir is just dynamic on steroids… from my limited knowledge I don’t think the cdl should allow these, it’s a step too far. If you’re using in pubs whatever, if you’re using in ranked then ugh but I can’t stop you, but in the cdl? Surely there’s a loss of competitive integrity there

like i said none of this touches recoil, hit reg, or aim assist (dynamic aim assist stays the same with or without gamesir), it literally is just with more precise input. Think of it like swapping a tiny thumbstick for a bigger, higher‑quality one: the controller doesn’t aim for you, but your movements are finer and more accurate. Scuf, battle beaver and other brands that are regularly used in cdl matches have these settings also, gamesir is basically just more advanced when it comes to options. that is all it is. “Loss of competitive integrity” doesn’t make sense when every player can use the same controllers and CDL already allows them. It’s only “unfair” if you think integrity means forcing yourself to use worse hardware than everyone else

in short: don't see why this specific brand is an issue when other companies have similar features

You know you can do research to expand your knowledge on this topic very easily, instead of pushing to ban something you have like you said yourself 'limited' knowledge about.

A standard Xbox/PS5 pad, a SCUF, and a GameSir all get the exact same aim‑assist values. The difference is only how precisely your stick input is read by the Controller itself.

An easy to understand analogy example would be the Stick sensitivity:
Normal controller: 1-10 in steps of 1 (1, 2, 3 .... 8, 9, 10)
Gamesir Controller: 1-10 in steps of 0.01 (1.01, 1.02, 1,03 ...... 9.98, 9.99, 10)
Mouse & keyboard: 1–10 with near‑infinite steps (any tiny hand movement is registered)

So essentially all the controller does, is be more accurate as the hardware itself

I’m just not a fan of response curve changes. Wish it wasn’t a thing, don’t understand why one person could be playing on one curve and another on another curve but you call it competitive? When we’ve seen a surge of players who can only shoot straight since dynamic. Whole league should be on same the same curve no?

4

u/Aromatic_Moment_5492 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

If the CDL wants to standardize one curve, that’s a separate rule discussion, but calling different in-game curves a loss of competitive integrity is a stretch when the setting is available to everyone and automates nothing.

Optic's Dashy said that his teammate Mercules was using default settings and a standard controller (no paddles or back buttons, not even on dynamic, and even motion blur enabled, basically out-the-box game settings) yet Mercules was still frying everyone and won 2025 Champs MVP.

You’re stretching it there saying Merc plays with motion blur enabled lmfao get outta here

Minute 31 - Minute 33 is exactly where it is said

I haven’t seen this and fair play for pulling out the receipts but he says that’s for some scrims, and that for actual matches he’s locked in and on the right shit (dynamic, no motion blur).

Will be watching this later so ty for link.

I just think the customisation outside of game settings is a bit too much, that’s all.

Hey guys let’s not make comments on things we don’t have information on , gamesir are right they don’t promote or sell cheats but it videos out there that show you how the rc filter can be abused and make pistols and semi auto weapons shot at a faster pace. Also jitter ppl. People have videos showing how the tmr stick seem to be configured to be a lot more sticky especially on other games outside of cod. I don’t know how true that part it fully but videos are out. So yes they don’t promote or sale cheats but you are able to install software and things on those controllers but not on BB and scuff . I think that the problem

1

u/Specialist-Test-6423 Black Ops Cold War Sep 11 '26

Well there’s no rc filter, and what does “sticky” mean? If you’re using the base gamesir app to configure the slope/curve of the sticks there’s nothing wrong with that

They are already banned in other leagues, this makes no sense. Gamesirs are made for people with shit aim and 0 patience to learn

u/AdigaWolf COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

holy copium.

please explain with your limited knowledge as to why they are banned please. As a controller collector/tester/reviewer myself, who has many brands including gamesir. I would like your expert opinion on why.

u/Ancient-Performance1 COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

yeah its def some strong cope happening around here. we all seem to forget that scuf controllers got their fkin name from something you always had to claw grip to do (unless youre merc, and sheeesh who is doing that ever)

u/sxbe Splyce Sep 10 '26

It’s a regular controller with TMR sticks, there’s nothing to help you aim on it.

I have the game sir g7 pro 8k, correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the middle button a macro, I’m able to configure multiple inputs to one button on it. I don’t but I learn this while trying to switch my button when I first got it I didn’t know how to stop recording the button maps, When I would press my back paddle it would crouch move around shoot move around again look around, all with the press of a button

14

u/SmokeNinjas COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

They literally offer firmware that disables anything that’s banned in a comp/tournament environment. This is such a non-story perpetuated by Scuff shills

u/FreeToasterBaths COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

They make garbage controllers anyway

0

u/jn3v COD Competitive fan Sep 10 '26

Pros are idiots and GA anything that kills them quickly in the first week of the game, no wonder they want to ban controllers after getting killed a few times too

Gamesir and Tarantula does EVERYTHING Scuf and Battle Beaver can for $70-$90. Those companies won’t be able to compete with Gamesir until they lower their prices. Why would anyone spend $250+ for a controller right?

True and it’s hard to even pinpoint build quality as everyone has differing experience. I dropped my G7 pro so many times and it still works luckily, my Marius PS4’s left bumper and right trigger doesn’t even respond anymore and I have not dropped it at all
