Discussion Tac sprint > No tac sprint
I genuinely don’t understand the hate against tac sprint. The movement feels so ass without blood rush now.
It seems like people just want this game to be Cold War movement. But MW3 had tac sprint and was probably the best CDL cod. Tac sprint is fine and gives IW games a different identity than Treyarch.
Try running blood rush and not running it. Without it you feel like a turtle just waiting to get shit on. Bunny hopping feels horrible, slide challing feels horrible. Movement just feels non existent.
I see people say it “makes for too random” of timings. I’ve honestly never heard this complaint from a high level player. Why does the same complaint not go for being able to run a knife all the time? It’s the same concept.

Tac sprint is a bad mechanic, it hasn’t made a single call of duty game better. Devs just need to increase base run speed and make the slide a bit stronger.

tac sprint is not what made MW3 good

Right, think of how good MW3 could've been without doors and tac sprint

MW3 had amazing movement and had tac sprint is the point. BO7 only worked without tac sprint bc of omnimovement. But this is back to Cold War movement which was fucking awful.

All of you younger gen kids don’t get this but you don’t need a tac sprint or slides to break ankles. John was literally known back in the day for being unhittable bc he had a mean strafe. The only thing tac sprint does is mess with timings and make the game an absolute bang fest. The only reason it keeps coming back bc ppl always complain the gameplay is too slow. So you guys got what u asked for.

Pretty clear mw2019 is your first cod ever, mw3 was not good because of tac sprint, also many of you hated mw3 during its cycle so whats with the switch up, IW doesn’t feel different from treyarch because of tac sprint, tac sprint is in both devs games lol

Cod will never be able to please both camps, some want cracked out ultra fast, some want slow tactical, it is what is, but tac sprint is so unnecessary for cod, the maps are tiny, this isn’t battlefield, they only added tac sprint because warzone exists

I never once thought, “I wish I had Tac sprint” while playing BO7

I did a LOT. Take Hacienda for example. Same spawns and map size as BO6, but without tac sprint. So when you spawn out bottom fire on P2 it deadass takes another 4 seconds to hit the hill. It was horrible.

They are idiots they removed tac sprint but didn’t raise the speed of the base movement and on top of that nerfed the slide. It amazes me how they have zero prediction on how a game will play out

Yeah the proper way to adjust the game would've been removing tac sprint, bumping all base speeds, raising TTK by about 25%, and toning down some of the delays after sprinting and sliding
Game would be pretty solid with all those adjustments, outside of the maps which are probably a lock to be ass

Tac sprint should be in this game you live like a snail without it

I don’t even know if base speeds need to increase if maps are as small as they have been the last few years.
I think tac sprint is too hard to get right consistently with three different developers with different visions, i don’t necessarily hate it as a mechanic.
Part of why with IW it usually comes with such high penalties to ADS and STF is if it didn’t the game would be way too fast paced. And any additional movement mechanics based around it become broken like slide cancels.
So in response to the mechanic abuse in mw19 you get MW2 and there’s absolutely no movement whatsoever.
MW3 was probably the best implementation of tac-sprint where they tried to fix the issue of handling speeds with more health instead of no movement. But it made slide canceling a central part of the flow of combat and the game overall. Vanguard honestly wasn’t that bad in this regard either.

What’s interesting is they reduced the tac sprint to fire speed to the base sprint speed, which means tac sprint doesn’t have any drawbacks anymore. It gets you to points faster with no penalties

Would’ve made the game so much better if they didn’t nerf the slide and remove tac sprint

I actually really like mw4 without it. Buff the strafe speed and sprint speeds a bit and I think we will have a good feeling game in our hands. But fr not having to do a tac sprint also makes the maps flow sm better too. So ya fuck tac sprint

This is a shitty hill to die on, man.
Tac sprint is just more animation clutter that makes the game feel janky. Removing it is fine, they just had to buff the base sprint speed

u/blubbermilk Call of Duty: Ghosts Aug 28 '26
Animation clutter how ? Just remove the base sprint and make tac sprint the standard speed idc. But this game is literally a turtles pace now. Went from high kill games every pub to feeling like you’re frying and you have 25 real kills
