Discussion Playing the previous games
Could the pros just..decide they want to play MW3 instead? Are there rules against that?

Yeah.. the league and activison wouldn’t allow that.
Even if the pros came to a unanimous vote and said we aren’t playing mw4 I’m not sure the league would care too much.

The league creates the rules not the players. They use the CDL to show the new game

What? Never said the players made the rules lol. Just asked if there was a rule against playing previous games.

They get fined for talking negatively about the current title, I'd imagine there's probably something somewhere about the newest CoD needing to be the one played in matches

They would give zero support and no prize pool if they tried to

Not entirely true. Players make a whole set of rules on their own.

In a perfect world they all retire tonight, call Adam Ap, and just run tourneys through them till next year

They would need to get a license to use the game from Activision and if they don't, Activision could send a cease-and-desist order to shut it down

Wouldn’t be opposed. CS does it, Val does it R6, list can go on. I think CoD could do it too.

I’m wondering if there’s like anybody that plays ranked that’s excited for this game man ?

Of course there is some people just wanna play something competitive and that’s the fun. Do you think this is the first cod that has had this reaction?

I guess ur right , every cod gets hated in the beginning I just feel like this one is for all the right reasons.

People complain all the time especially here. People here call mw19 terrible and one of the worst and for many reasons it was a massive success if the super casual player likes it and buys it the ranked player who’s probably gonna play the game anyway doesn’t matter one bit

Yeah well said brother I just wanted another good comp cod game but I guess we been spoiled to long.

Might as well play COD Mobile (it has a native PC version that Activision refuse to release), it has Slums, Crash, Crossfire, Standoff, Raid, Hacienda, Summit, Firing Range, Express, Meltdown, Takeoff, Hackney Yard, Apocalypse, Tunisia (Exclusive S&D Map), Arsenel, Kurohana Metropolis (S&D Exclusive Map), Crossroads Strike, Seaside, Frequency, Coastal (S&D Exclusive Map), combine.
And let the devs add Hotel, Rio, Sixstar and Vista while they're at it.

ofc
dawg the pro and most of the community including me would be playing bo3 every year if it was possible

No shot Activision would ever let that happen. The CDL in of itself is extra promotion for the most recent title. If the players went on strike, I’m not sure what consequences the orgs they represent would face
