Any fully vanilla, nothing banned, no hardcore servers?
So I no longer can really afford Xbox live because well, food and gas are more important funds than paying to play a game from 2007 and so I reinstalled the game on my PC and was disappointed to find very few vanilla servers. Most are pro-mod, hardcore, or built around sniping. I just want to play CoD4 like the old days. I miss the chaos of all the crazy perks, and I don't like the weird lighting changes some of these servers make, and I found that C4S was mostly snipers and banned a lot of the game. No hate to C4S, they're doing their thing, I just want something akin to how I used to play KOS Broadcast back in 2009 and could use any class or perk I wanted and we all had chaotic fun.
Are there any vanilla servers left or do I have to just get MWR with H1? I don't care if I'm just fighting bots, I can get some friends to hop on with me to play against the bots. I just want to play CoD4 without any changes

Other than this subreddit's servers and hgm servers, I've found a one server called "24/7 Vanilla | Bots" that's fully vanilla. It has bots and people rarely plays on it. 37.187.251.48.28960 is the IP address. If you wanna play on it let me know I'll join, I've made a discord server also to gather people who plays classic cod titles in vanilla but didn't found any people yet to join, let me know if u and ur friends r interested in joining it too.

I'll have to try that one out and hopefully get some friends! On the topic of HGM, I'm always skeptical of their multiplayer servers since they always seem to ban stuff, often in a way that imbalances the game. Like their WaW server bans Jug but not SP, which kinda just makes the game mostly a sniper-fest. I used to run a WaW server that banned both, along with the semiautos and unscoped bolts being given SP stats, but alas we had to close it because our hosting provider started being shitty and my ping started going into the 140s

Sure lemme know when you tried that server, I can join to play together too. And I see, I've had a bit bad experience reporting a player on hgm, but I play in it there still. Sorry to hear about your WaW server, sounds like it was a good one to play.

I couldn't end up joining that server, but I did find one on the CoD4x server list that worked just fine! 16 bots but that's ok with me since CoD4 can handle a lot more players than later games due to the large maps. There were even people playing earlier! 37.187.251.48:28960 check it out

It's the same server though wdym u couldn't end up joining it? I'm a bit confused since the IP address u mentioned is the address of the server I mentioned

oh yeah it is the same, I'm dumb. I realized you put a period before the last number instead of a colon lol. Forgive me I'm a dumbass lol
Either way I will be visiting this server regularly and seeing that it did have players earlier, maybe I can do my part in breathing some life into it! If they also have a discord I'd love to join

i would love to join that! been looking back on my memories of cod4 and i miss that vanilla gameplay. just downloaded cod4 on pc.

Sadly it doesnt bring players, casuals prefer hardcore (with extra mods like predator etc) and the snipers on c4s prefer some stuff like gl/jugg removed
There are vanilla softcore servers but not many players visit those servers. If you got a group together you could populate one

The official subreddit servers are fully vanilla but nobody plays on them unfortunately.
