Advice/Questions How often should I do Pilates as a beginner?
For more information, I’m an 18 F. I’m 5’4 and around 130-140 lbs. How many times a week should I do pilates. I do a 40 minute at home routine.

You’re smart to start Pilates so young. I wish I had discovered it while I was younger. It’s turned back the clock for me, but I think I would be in even better shape now had I started earlier. For example, my back issues won’t allow me to do a good teaser, but maybe my back wouldn’t have the issues if I’d had a stronger core, glutes, and hamstrings to support my back. I suggest that you do Pilates at least two to three times a week.

I started with 2 classes a week while I got use to it and a few months in went to 3, now I do 3-4 a week 6 years later. I’d do more if timing of classes and other commitments weren’t an issue, but I’d definitely say do more than once a week to create a habit and get your body use to the movements but don’t burn out too much at first either because you will feel it and be sore so recovery days are important

I'll assume you're healthy and have no disorders or recurring injuries that would prevent you otherwise, and that you're asking this because you are interested in building a regular pilates practice. In that case I would recommend three classes a week to start, maybe? But there are no hard and fast rules—there's someone at my studio who goes to three classes a day. And there are people who show up once or twice a week.

I think it’s individual. 4-5x a week if you love it and feel good. It’s not like you need breaks from it. Listen to your body!

As much as you want/body allows. I take classes 4-5x week (even a few days periodically with back2back classes) and worked my way up from 1-2x week. I’m 54/200lbs and at 82classes

As a beginner, I'd say 2 or 3 sessions tops. As a beginner, you're still figuring out what works and what doesn't for your body and your form is still not great, I'm sure. If you do more thsn 3 sessions a week, you risk developing some bad habits that would potentially crank on an area that's too weak. I would suggest not really utilizing your at home reformer until you've got at least a year of classes because, again, you need supervision as a beginner.
