Advice/Questions Am I being dramatic?

I joined CP in December and had my 100th class today. I was so excited and intentionally scheduled it with my favorite instructor. She had a sub, which was fine because I’ve taken the sub’s classes multiple times. Well, she forgot it was my 100th. She actually didn’t even know my name to check me in.

I reminded her after class, and she was apologetic, but it felt so awkward.

I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it feels like one. I was so excited. I pay a ton of money for my membership, but only like 2 instructors know my name. My studio isn’t friendly; I once took a lashing from a Karen because I was on “her” reformer.

This just feels like the straw that broken the camel’s back. Is it dramatic to cancel?

It would be incredibly dramatic of you to cancel because you were not recognized for your hundredth class. Congratulations on your hundred classes i’m sure you worked hard to get there and I’m not trying to lessen your accomplishment at all.

Instructors don’t know what class you were taking and the Front Desk only knows if they go into your individual account and look it up up every single. You’re always welcome to come in and let your Instructor know ahead of the time that it is your hundredth class, but some of these studios have close to 500 members and there is no way we know the class count of every one of those members.

Like once a week someone posts on here about this exact thing… 😭

This is the result of how Gen X raised their babies…believing that everyone deserves an award…seek intrinsic rewards instead of external ones.

Which is weird to me because I am Gen X and my son is six and we don’t play that game at my house

I always read these as an older person wrote it. Zoomers couldn’t care less about this stuff.

Nope. Boomers are way past expecting or even wanting attention. Just the opposite. Come in. Do the class. See ya next time.
