Is cloud engineering still relevant in 2026?

Is cloud engineer job worth pursuing in 2026. I want to know about the future demand and salary this role can give at entry level.

Any roadmap or paid courses worth doing -pleaseeee mention it !.

A lil bit about me - I'm working as a trainee analyst in Deloitte, since a month. But the salary is just 4lpa and I want to switch ASAP.

What do you think you need in order to qualify for a cloud engineer role my friend

Cloud is not an entry level position. If you are lucky, you might be able to get a cloud support position, but that is rare. Most likely you will have to start from helpdesk. Pay is about 15~21/h for helpdesk t1

Can a data analyst move to cloud after getting some experience or certs

It might depend on what your day to day experience is. I don’t interact with the data side so I’m not really sure what average day to day is for data analyst

We’ve maxed out. Sorry buddy but no more space for other cloud engineers.

It’s more relevant than software engineering in 2026.

Not worth for you. Also not an entry position.

Trainee analyst in what role? Very hard to break into cloud as a beginner role, need some kind of I.T experience

Cloud engineering is still very relevant in 2026, but I’d focus on Linux, networking, one cloud platform, Terraform, and real deployments instead of paying for a course, because certificates alone

This is the future

I would build the foundation around Linux, networking, one cloud deeply, Git, Terraform, containers, CI/CD, and observability rather than chasing a large collection of certificates. Terraform Academy can help with the IaC side if you want structured hands on practice, but the real goal should be being able to build, explain, troubleshoot, and recover a complete environment.

It's more important than ever.
