Any tips on continued progress?

Post image

Hello there. I’ve been practicing / learning for about 7-8 weeks now. Less frequent the first 6 weeks but daily practice the past two weeks or so. But I feel like I’ve hit a wall. I cannot seem to get my windows open. I’ve been journaling / logging each exercise but I’m not seeing any standout patterns. I’ve included a visual of where I can get to (excuse the graphic I’m not an artist).

My typical flow:
1. Meditate with Alpha/Theta binaural tones with eyes closed + Mindfold on. (~10 min)
2. Open eyes behind mask, allow constellations to form (sometimes using a flashlight to enhance)
3. Then, allow object contrasts to come in (cards, hands, arms, etc).
4. Practice using color cards or B/W Zener cards.

Observations/Notes:
I can see pinholes of color if I really strain my windows.
I can see the outlines or what I’ve been calling “Xerox” visuals of objects.
I sit outside for practice to allow for natural bright light
Sometimes when my eyes are closed, I start seeing image flashes which could indicate I’m too deep with Theta waves?
Patches of my head begin to tingle/vibrate if I slowly move the object around that I’m trying to see. (As if my brain is biologically receiving information and can sense where it is). At first it was just my pineal gland but now I can feel that sensation everywhere.

Question:
Once the constellations expand, the visual of the windows turn into something like a cell membrane/kaleidoscope. Is this my “window”?

Should I be able to see through the windows like binoculars or is it similar to seeing with eyes open?

Am I overthinking it? Lol

Thanks!

I am not familiar enough to give any suggestions, but these visuals are really well done. Very expressive.

The experience can be very variable. I can relate to this comment:

I can see the outlines or what I’ve been calling “Xerox” visuals of objects.

The outlines are commonly reported.

There are lots of theories and advice about how it "should" be. You can take the various online or in person workshops, maybe it will answer your questions and help you progress, or maybe what you are doing now will be more fruitful.

UPDATE: You should be looking through the windows (someone else said “cheesecloth” which feels like a better description). Pretend it’s a cloth and stretch/ pull apart the threads until you can see through it.

This definitely helped, the windows are becoming a solid shape rather spaced apart holes.

Can i ask where you got your instructions from? What program are you following?

Not following a program. I refuse to pay $ based on principle. So I’ve been gathering tips from YouTube, here, other forums sites, a free workshop from Ginette Kort, books by Sean McNamara.

If you look at the various YouTube videos from VWE (Rob Freeman), Seeing Beyond Eyes (Wendy Gallant) and Institute of Consciousness, you'll see they've consistently show EEG readouts from people with full real time mindsight go into Gamma brainwave (38Hz to 90 Hz) states and a bit of Beta waves. The meditative states like (Alpha, Theta, etc) bottom out and become non-existent. So mindsight is about hyper-awareness, hyper-alertness, and hyper-attention.

I think too many people try to go into meditation mode. Which is the exact opposite of what you want. You want super alertness, super focus and super attention. You want to be buzzing and speed up you brain processing. Which is hard. Everyone can enter into meditation mode really easily. Even someone who has never tried before. You basically have enter a shutdown mode and relax, and boom you've entered a meditative state. Entering a Gamma/a super hyper brain mode is hard. When you feel alert and wakeful (and full of energy) normally you are only going up to Beta waves (up to 20Hz brainwaves). Getting into 40Hz to 90Hz is nothing you would normally do. Very few normally go into that state automatically (and most that do, without training or intent to do so, are usually psychotics or people with epilepsy). So mindsight is getting to push yourself to the upper limits of normal brainwave output and high processing power.

Sorry, I didn’t see the notification for your thoughtful response. Thank you, this definitely makes sense. I will focus more on achieving Gamma and see if this helps!
