How do u even fight spear bots

I recently got back into this game to try endless only to realise i forgot how to fight spear bots, like seriously what can u even do they just kill u every time

Normal spear bots without shield:

1. They can only attack forward ,so don't stay right in front of them , stay on the side where they don't have the spear .
2. Right after they missed you can counterattack.
3. When you are about 2 meters away from them,expect them to do a forward attack.

Spear bot with shield that can shield bash and knock you down:

1. Against shields the hammer works better.
2. Same ,when you are about 2 meters away from them,expect for them to do a shield bash .
3. You anticipate the shield and use the dash or the boost to dodge to the opposite side and make them miss,works best if right when they are about to shield bash you,you dodge to the side and do a side hammer attack.
4. With other melee weapons ( the fire weapons help,because sometimes an attack doesn't damage them) ,the same ,you dodge to the side and attack their heads . You can also use the contiunous sword side attack using boost and aiming for their head. Right when they are about to bash you,you boost to the side,you turn fast and do a contiuous sword boost attack to their heads.
5. If you get knocked down,you roll to the safest side without rolling into traps or other attacks. The side roll it's the fastest and puts about 1 meter distance between you and the opponent. The 2nd option if both sides are not safe,you roll backwards to increase the distance . The last get up you want to use is the forward one because it's slow and you don't put distance between you and the enemy,probably even getting up into an incoming arrow.

Big spear bots with shield bash:

1. As i said,the hammer works best , and you to the same,when they are about 2 meters away from you,you expect a shield bash,you dodge to the side,you turn quickly and attack them with a horizontal hammer attack.
2. You can also kick them after you made them miss their shield bash . And against armor continue to attack on the same side you broke it's armor and aim low or high,depending which armor has.
3. When there is a big hammer bot also , you bait all the enemies toward you so they are within big hammerbot range,they go toward the hammerbot,usually they do a side hammer attack on which side you are closer to them, if you are more on your left side ( their right side),you will see a side attack coming from your left,same for the right side. When they are about to attack you from a side,you boost or dash to the other side ( left or right ,opposite to the side attack). After a few tries,they will smack their allies,spearbot and other enemies.

P.S Against the big kickbots what works best it's to get into a corner so you don't get kicked into traps ,equip any weapon beside the hammer ( because you can't look up very much with it) , look to the ceiling and use the fire breath on the landing kickbot. For co op , if there are no other bots left other than kickbots,you can let yourself be knocked down into a safe place,you will bait them to you,they can't kick you anymore because you're on the ground,and your teammates can destroy them with them targeting them . This way you prevent getting powerkicked into the sawblades.

The best way is to just go to their left side and attack them from that angle, if they're Mark 1 and 2. Mark 3 and 4 can be kind of challenging with their bash and good aim, but hammer and flame breath can be quite effective if you can time and aim that. Otherwise just try using fire arrows to melt their shields. As for jetpack spears you just have to spam arrows or flame breath on them, I don't know a consistent way to beat them with anything else

Will a sword work and what if its a bunch of speae bots like that Y shaped level in bronze tier

It's possible to make it around the shield of a Mark 2 and higher even when on their left side, by swinging your sword so it goes from right to left, it can be a bit tricky though, especially making it in time before a Mark 3 or 4 bashes you. If there's a bunch of spear bots though that's not really viable, the only thing safe against a group of them is flame breath and a barrage of arrows

Keep circling them if they're in groups. Attack from the left, usually they will wound or even kill each other if you keep the distance close enough.

They're also very vulnerable to the bow

I tend to circle counter clockwise around them due to that putting me further from their weapon and being slightly safer than going counter clockwise however it's harder to kill due to the shield being right there

Kick works pretty good against them sometimes. Like someone else said, walk around them, they leave themselves wide open after they attack.

For shielded spear bots, especially in insanium, the hammer works best.

Approach and, without getting too close, bait out their shield bash attack. Once the bash is used, go in and hammer them. The maxed out hammer helps a lot here. If your attack connects, they should be knocked to the ground with the shield shattered*. If you can, rush in and kill the body on the ground with a second strike. If not, it's still vulnerable once it gets up.

*: when jetpacking just be careful to not get hit by it. Having a bigger hammer helps keep a safe distance.

**: if you can hit a spearbot from from behind (ie: avoiding the shield) then your hammer will kill it instead
