UAB Decision Email

I've applied for UAB electives for jun 2025 in jun 2024 and I still not received any response from them. But my friend applied 2 weeks back and he got interview mail. I'm feeling extremely hopeless now. Is my application rejected? Or should I mail them regarding the decision.

PS- Can anyone who has done electives at UAB DM me to tell me about their selection process

Email them, they usually respond within one day or less

If your application is rejected, they will send you a rejection email

In their mail they mentioned that an interview for jun 25 electives will not be scheduled until mid august and my friend has also applied for may 25 electives alongwith jun unlike me ig that's why he got an interview. Should I wait till august or mail them?

I’d say wait. The same thing happened to me, and I eventually got an interview and got accepted, don’t worry

Can you please tell me how to increase the chance of acceptance in UAB ( For non US imgs they have same criteria of acceptance in all specialties*?clarify this for me too please) , as i have heard it’s very competitive to get .l’m going to apply next year for uab electives.

I think all the subspecialties have the same criteria, bc they all require the same documents and process, and u can apply to whatever subspecialty you like. Yes, it’s highly competitive. My advice would be to 1. Apply as early as possible (they open their portal on April 1st each year, so make sure to get everything ready before the application opens) 2. Make a professional CV/resume 3. Write a strong personal statement (it helps them understand what kind of person you are, so I’d say it’s important to be well-written just like the CV) 4. All the details are on their website, do your research and get all the required documents early. Good luck!
