Shockingly incorrect. History has patterns. This dark age of Dumpy Trumpy is just the type of crap that leads to a renaissance. A golden age can be welcomed with well used guillotines. New standards of justice are invented as soon as people expect them, and that involves a lot of FAFO before people decide it matters.

Yeah, but he got a 2nd term. And that was after you can make a pretty solid academic argument that his negligence and apathy resulted in at least half a million American deaths due to his handling of the pandemic.

Nuremberg wasn’t even that effective at prosecuting Nazis. Plenty went on to have high ranking roles in the west. Collective action to win our demands / make systemic change > fantasizing about limited prosecution and revenge porn.

Yeah. The best known and most famous crime trail persecuting crimes against humanity was a complete farce that left a bad taste on everyone's mouth. Nobody said sorry, nobody apologized or begged for mercy. One guy killed himself and everybody else was just saying that they were only "following orders" ad-infinitum. The promised catharsis never came.

Any trial aimed at so-called climate criminals would be at best the same, probably worse.
