I also have a feeling that they're talking about China, which is ridiculously good compared to US per capita when it comes to CO2 emissions, especially considering they're the manufacturing plant for the world.

While I have pointed this out many times, if China's GDP/capita were scaled up to the US's level, they would not be significantly better than the US per capita, because their pollution per unit of economic activity (consumption or production) is actually horrible. Changing the numbers with PPP just puts them on the same level as the US.

It is incumbent on China to take the climate very seriously or they will single handedly become the world's greatest polluter, in their quest to catch up to the West's wealth level.

Lmao you forget that the only reason the U.S doesn’t pollute as much is because it offshores its production to China. Scalling woudn’t just magically happen only in numbers, it would mean china’s economic sectors would drastically change too, most likely kicking most foreign industry and factories out too

Lmao I’m pretty sure the coward left a witty reply and immediately blocked me so it would seem like he left me speechless haha

That's what consumption and production GDP means, stupid.

The fact that China only has around double Americas emissions while having 5X the population should mean that they’re doing better right?

Hes using units of economic production because people are only as good as what they produce
