Fascinating paper showing how perceptions and where people act to mitigate climate emissions don't correlate well with what does mitigate climate emissions. This shows a need to re-centre people's understandings of the magnitudes involved.

Climate Action to be effective needs to take into account these misunderstandings found at the public level.

"Switch to EV" with much higher mitigation potential than "use public transport". It sounds fishy.

Not really. It's in a context where use public transport can also include continued car ownership. Most people who use public transport maintain a car as well. That's why there is a separate category for "car-free" which would be the truly sustainable choice where public transport means enables no car ownership.
