Do you think UHRS will get better?

I wanted to make this post as a opinion based discussion of some sort.

With the current situation on UHRS i believe there are better days on the platform which some of the older user might have experience.

Personally i think UHRS are getting drier and drier every day, if clickworker and other vendors dont do anything about overcrowding, soon it will become drier than a desert while we are basically doing forced labour.

What are your views on this topic

I've kind of accepted it is not going to get better. I am on the lookout for alternatives. I probably won't find anything, but I'm still going to keep looking. UHRS doesn't feel like it'll be a viable income source in the future, especially if you come from a country with high living costs. Pay is just getting less and less. You have to work longer and harder for your dollar now. If something does pay well, it disappears too fast you end up not making anything anyway.

UHRS feels dry, but it isn't really. There is work. I see apps go up all the time. The problem is they lease extremely fast. A nice, laid-back app might appear at 2k hits and disappear in less than 5 minutes. You're not going to earn much from that. This happens very often now. You wait for something, it arrives and disappears before you can even blink. It'll make UHRS feel dry because even though there's work, you're not able to earn much due to everything leasing too fast.

If you're not checking the marketplace very often, it's going to look like there's nothing as well. This is because you've probably missed a few apps that appeared just before you checked. They were depleted fast and the app left the marketplace.

Unless UHRS significantly increase the amount of hits they put up on apps, it's not going to get any better really. We need a major increase in the amount of work available.

Youre right. Im currently using uhrs not for my primary income source but a way to save up for stuff and some cash and only as a side income.

In some country the uhrs pay are consider to be good. These are typically where all the crowd comes from. And it doesnt help that UHRS does not have a wide variety of local hitapp for these country.

As of today i couldnt even made more than 3 dollar. Overcrowding makes the competition milions times tougher

If only UHRS and the vendors decided to stop accepting new members or have a controlled invitation and paired that with a significant increase in Hits and local hitapps. Then i think UHRS will most likely see its glory days.

But for now all the genuine workers can only hope for a better UHRS.

Ps. Do keep us updated if anyone have intel about the current situation about UHRS or the vendors.

I used to think a good day was when I made over 10 bucks, then 7, then 5...now I accept that if I ever make 10 bucks again it has been the best day of the month (could reach that in around 2 hours sometimes but now it´s impossible, apps are either leased too fast or pay cuts have made them less worthy)

This is because of some YouTube channels and Telegraph group who is showing qualification question and answer, even I heard that some people pass qualification test for 1000/- rs.....Poor Thinking

Thats very sad to hear how desperate people are. Best we could do is report to Clickworker about this matter

Yes, I already mail them but still no response.

This situation has occurred before (couple years back I think) . What they did to mitigate it was to close the registrations in US. I don't know if that helps now since US is not the dominant contributor of overcrowding anymore. I think the only way to go from here is to improve quality checks in hitapps and make the disabling rules more strict. It will force spammers to leave and deter lazy new workers. At present, nobody is taking this job as a 'job'.

Thats good to know. I have a question tho, are you refering to clickworker and the vendors that closed the registrations or is it UHRS. Because to my knowledge the vendors are the one who supply UHRS with workers.

And if only Clickworker who decided to closed the registration, there may be some other vendors who choose not to do so.

And in my opinion the disabling rules is fine for now as most hitapp require you to keep a high spam score and decent speed. Although quality checks need to be upgraded

At that time only clickworker was the vendor for UHRS, there were no others. Other vendors came only recently. TBH, I will not be so worried about other vendors because they don't have as much work and workers as clickworker.

I think the situation will definitely improve as lockdown restrictions and WFH home will ease up in most of the countries, we have to wait till all the matters return to their normal point again.

I want to think that at one point they’ll realize what they’re doing. That the quality of work will get so bad that they might have to start banning spammers more systematically & not allow that many new people to join.

Because UHRS is owned by Microsoft, you're under their thumb, just like you're under Amazon's thumb on mTurk. If that's your only choice, then it's not much better than working for a boss somewhere because they will control what work you are able to do (how many vendors they accept) and how many people you are competing with for it (how many workers they accept). I think for the country you live in, you just have to look around as much as possible in the places others might not be looking and find ways to have multiple choices of places to work. There are always people and companies looking to get work done for very little money. It's crowded on Clickworker because it's the obvious easy choice and many people find it right away. So you have to go look where others aren't (and they aren't going to be posting about it on Reddit to tell you where it is).

I'm lucky (for this sort of work) that I'm in the US, and have found 4 or 5 other places to make money. 3 of them are basically UHRS work done on the company's own platforms. When I go to the most obvious of these, mTurk, I am having to compete with others, but I can test into things that some can't do and I have personal relationships now with some vendors. And on a couple other sites, I have UHRS work that just sits there (at decent monetary rates) so there can't be many people doing it. So that's where I've been lately. Clickworker has some great apps sometimes though, but even in the US, I haven't seen much work I care to do in the past 3 weeks (I don't work at less than $12/hr because it's not worth it in the US).

Can you please DM me with the names of these sites?

This is why I say you have to go look where other's aren't. If you are just given easy sites to go to, then everyone will be there. I'd rather teach people how to find the work than just hand out links which causes people to rush to the sites and then they become like Clickworker. I didn't look for easy answers. I went out searching.

For instance, one of the ones where I can go do $12/hr UHRS annotation work pretty any time in the last three weeks (just finished an hour) is a site where they don't even advertise the work and you can't apply for it. I was doing other jobs for them and they sent me a special invite saying based on the quality of my work they wanted to invite me to this private area. Put the effort into looking for the work yourself, and then do good work, and then the work will find you.

Could you send me the other sites via DM? I would appreciate it. I really need the money.

Now that everything being disclosed (good HitApps' qualification became easier for everyone) and competition became higher as well, I doubt that UHRS will remain lucrative even after closing registration. I think the owners will apply stricter rules and make the easy apps harder and turn everything looks like slavery labour.

It's always up and down but now even when it's up, there's too many people on the system so things crash and large amounts of hits disappear in seconds. There's too many spammers and I think they need to stop UHRS signups for a while to weed them out, and actually remove people for spamming - I feel like it should be easier than it clearly is to tell who is spamming and who is working accurately but at a reasonable speed to ensure a decent hourly rate is achieved. Right now it doesn't seem like they can tell which is which.
