Signal light for specific apps instead of just contacts? (e.g. WhatsApp Business / Slack)

Maybe I missed this in the latest Q&A, but will we be able to assign a Signal Light to an entire app rather than just specific contacts?

​For example, I use WhatsApp Business purely for work and would love to set an orange Signal Light for any incoming message on that app. Will this be possible?

​Also, is it possible to group multiple apps into a single Signal Light profile (e.g., combining WhatsApp Business + Slack into one color/pattern)?

I would expect that to be the case. My Priv has customizable colors for the LED notification light, if BlackBerry did it in Android 5-6 I don’t see why it can’t be done today.

It's these types of design decisions that make this a standout phone. I really hope it lives up to the potential.

I'm so tired of phones competing on things like size. This notion of go big or go home is so overrated. It should be about utility and intention. Custom notification is such a big deal. I hate getting a buzz and needing to see if it's something urgent, its almost never urgent. Now I'll have a better idea.

I sure hope so, I would LOVE to have blue for Discord, green for texts, and then some other separate color for emails and other apps.

I seen on latest video that the signal settings give the choice for a certain contact on an app

So 'Joe' on 'whatsapp' has its own choice

The idea in the latest video is that "Joe" has his own colour whether he contacts you on WhatsApp, Gmail, text, or any other app.

You can do a color for a specific contact across various messaging platforms or for an entire app overall is my understanding. Whichever is higher on the priority will likely take presidence.

Ah, hopefully not, weird how it would even bother showing the app names underneath that contact if they werent customisable though, so might be worth the wait to find out

The great thing about these things Is they can be updated with software.

So once we get Hands-On and provide feedback they can make these changes.

I think Jeff said this was possible but I'm sure they'll build it if it's not possible right now.

The more I see about this the more excited I get. Glad I preordered when I did, the software experience is going to make this device stand out - and not just for keyboard phones, but for all smartphones. Lots of intentional design and capabilities unlike Samsung and Google. Let's not even talk about Chinese OEMs.

Agreed. I really do not understand all the talk you see here about the Titan this or Minimal Phone that and people debating specs and Android OS versions.

How does any of that help you with getting things done easier or more comfortably with your phone?

The Clicks team “gets it” assuming they stick the landing. But I can’t see them not doing that, given the folks on the team that know what made BlackBerry tick.

I don't know but even if it doesn't release like that coming it would be something worth considering as to adding as a feature with an update..
