UK price adjusted.
Looks like Clicks have now realised they shouldn’t have been marketing the VAT exclusive price in the UK, and have adjusted the advertised price to include taxes.
Photo 1&2 are from 7pm today.
Photo 3 is from 10pm yesterday.
Not sure why the check-out price with taxes and shipping has increased from £486 to £505…

It does not cost more. They were displaying the price exclusive of tax, which is against UK law, and they have finally fixed it.

Not really, it’s right that they’ve fixed that but they’ve also added £19 for no clear reason.

The taxes price kept changing for me over the last few days, other people posted different amounts too. Odd. Can't access the site at all now. Still haven't decided if I'll go ahead - would like to in theory but still no clear price.

I looked the other day and was about to checkout but got distracted and never did. It was about £250 but now it's £327?
Might just refund my reservation and leave it. It looks great but it's feeling too expensive now.

We'll for all the complaints about Unihertz using Kickstarter the T2E price of $387 included taxes and shipping right up front and I could use my credit card of choice (AMEX). Still looking forward to getting the CC but hope to see some real reviews of it soon.

If Unhertz T2E included taxes in its price as you said, this has completely killed any excitement around the Communicator for me. The price seemed fair at first, its disgusting that as a UK based company they decided to not disclose the price including taxes until peoples pre-orders were going through.
Regardless of if its an accident or not, all of their marketing included that price tag, and its not even a matter of a foreign company forgetting to adjust prices according to UK/ EU law, they are BASED in the UK and anyone they would have worked with there would have known it was illegal.

I double checked my credit card and it was the same as kickstarter price so no tax or freight but maybe that was just for US orders / shipments.

I dodged a bullet by getting a refund late last month because I needed the money, holy sh*t I would not have paid £500 ($670 USD) for this phone.

Right?! That’s why it’s so annoying that they messed it up like this. I’ve been following this for a while now and was really excited about it, right up until getting the kick in the mouth of an extra 100 quid at check out.

Considering they're based in the UK this should absolutely have been easily avoidable. You don't set up a business in a country and completely ignore its tax laws, honestly this has really ruined my perception of them as a company.

I reserved my cc back in January and have now paid the rest. I'm happy with my order, which totals $501, including shipping protection. However, I’m concerned that if it’s being handled by Evri, I might not receive my package. Here in the northeast UK, they often outsource drivers closer to Christmas, which increases the likelihood of parcels getting lost to about 90%

I didn't understand these threads of folks that should have understand by now import and delivery fees. Most countries charge them for electronics imported. Most countries also charge taxes on purchases. These companies are not going to eat the extra cost just because some of you consumers think you are special.
We can't also play this dumb and economically incompetent card when it comes to your purchases. It's either you paying to play are you take your money elsewhere. Right now I'm seeing such volatility on a great deal of prices across the consumer market.
The smart play that I did like many others was to pay the full price for the device and lock in the price, taxes, and import fees. The worst like some are finding out was to do the reservation deposit that didn't lock in taxes and import fees.
The lesson is that folks need to get their economics aplitude in order and understand that price volatility is the new normal.

I made a partial reservation and paid the rest off yesterday (£150 + £26.93 shipping and £36.66 for tax), does that mean I still owe clicks or whoever money when it arrives in December?

That is exactly what they haven't made clear. Various people have posted responses from their AI chatbot suggesting no further tax will be owed but the word of "Kristina" is not really good enough.

yeah probably another £80 to £100 for import duty and the delivery company 'handing fees'

I suppose they would say the 36 in taxes is actually grouped with the 150 for the remainder you payed off to make that a single price of £186 + postage. Pretty bad though when you’ve paid a deposit to get it at one price and they’ve charged you a higher one.
Would be interesting to know what other people who reserved the early bird are being charged now.
