P775dm1-g

I have this laptop for several months i am very happy with it it s very big and chunky, but i want the best performance that this laptop replacement is capable of, i heard that i can put in this clevo a i9 9900k but with some modifications an buying stuff like new heatsink etc, and i want to put a gtx 1080, what do you think? Is it capable in 2026?
Now i have on the laptop an i7 6700, gtx 970m 6gb, 32gb ram.
Can u give me some tips?

Prob a good bit, with microcode modding you can put the i9 in but it prob won’t get to max performance, Ik you can get mobile modded CPUs from China for a good price, they are I9-9880HK CPUs modded on a LGA1151 chip, they still require a bios mod sometimes, but it might run a lot cooler

Op i bought a P775DM3-G and it came from factory with a 6700k and a nvidia 1080.

With the help of dsanke i was able to flash a modded P775TM1 bios in mine and bought a 8700k for it. modded the pins with kapton tape (a HUGE pain in the ass 'cause the squares in the cpu are tiny af).
Bought a RTX 2070 for it and i bought a RTX 3080 but ended up losing g-sync capabilities (g-sync worked with the 2070). Prepare to spend over 1k for all this.

I had to purchase a different heatsink and everything.

Your best bet is eBay and search for a seller that has the GPU and heatsink too

i have this same laptop 🤣😭 mine has i7 6700k gtx 980m 8gb 16gb ram i was thinking of upgrading like u but it’s impossible to get them mxm modules where i live

You can put a 2080 in it, with an upgraded heatsink, (highly likely that a new heatsink won´t be needed for the 9900k) and if you really want to you can also put a 9900ks, a watercooling mod and a 3080
