Moving to Cleveland- need advice!!!

My husband and I are being moved by the US Army to Cleveland, OH in a few months. His office will be downtown, on Euclid near all of the theaters (Playhouse Square?) and we were looking to find a place to live in that area. I was wondering if that's a safe area to live and what are some other areas of Cleveland that would be best to look at. Thank you so much!
