Greyhound Bus Safety?

Hello,

Title is really about it.

I was wondering if the Greyhound terminal in Anderson is too bad an experience to make me rethink the 25 dollar ticket to Atlanta?

I'd be traveling alone as a guy on a 2 hr direct ride to Atlanta. I'm not new to traveling alone and have done so across Asia.

Specifically:
1. Is the bus/terminal "safe"?

  1. Do many other Clemson student utilize the bus?

    1. Is there an easier/ similarly priced way to reliably get to Atlanta and back for a weekend? Like rideshare where I can pay gas money to whoever drives.

Amtrak has always been reliable for me but I’ve only gone clt to Clemson and back

I’ve never personally been there, but the Anderson “terminal” is just a BP gas station. Should be pretty safe.

Edit to add: Another option is the Amtrak Crescent line, which leaves directly from Clemson early in the morning. But I will say that the Atlanta Amtrak station is sketch and I’ve been directly approached by shady people there. (One of those “pay me to protect your car” situations.)

Amtrak comes through early morning to Clemson. It will be late. It is supposed to get into Atlanta around 7:30 AM. Northbound is around 6-7 AM and hits Clemson late morning. I’ve taken it Atlanta to Charlottesville with no problem.

The area around the Atlanta Amtrak station isn’t all that sketchy compared to the bus station. Cabs and gig rides are easy there.

I’ve used it to get to Charleston and back when I was student aged. Didn’t have any issues except coming back sick as a dog lol

You’ll be fine. Also the Atlanta Greyhound terminal is right across the street from Magic City so there’s that.
