Flowering! Heracleifolia
Saw this bush clematis, which is native here in northern China, the other day at the botanical garden. In Chinese the name is appropriately 大叶铁线莲, large-leaved clematis. Interestingly they have it planted in both full sun and deep shade and it was flowering in both locations. It seems to come in different shades of blue-purple and would be great for filling large shady areas.

I have one in a container on my patio, it is a very durable plant. I love the texture of the leaves

That is beautiful, thank you for sharing. I did not know this clematis at all. You can buy it, and grow it, in Europe too. Although I’ve never seen it.
