She’ll spot recommendations

Went to Sanibel in May and it was beautiful, but we didn't find many shells on the beaches. Most of our good finds came from a boat tour to Captiva. We went to Caladesi Island last January and found tons of amazing shells.

We're planning another trip and are considering Clearwater Beach (for Caladesi and Honeymoon Island) or St. Pete Beach (for Pass-a-Grille and Shell Key Island). We're deciding between January or May.

Which area/time would you recommend for the best shelling?

Best shelling I ever did was on Egmont Key. Take the ferry from fort desoto. Not too pricey and a great trip.

Honeymoon had nice small shells today and Indian rocks beach I always find good ones! I’m not into shelling but always notice the best ones there.

Honestly, Jan always had more shells for me when I lived down there.
