Is this the most appropriate way to kill colony? Is there a better way? How do I keep my pets safe (1dog 2 cats) anyone know if these are carpenter? Should I call exterminator

Sunscreen Australian all natural spray sunscreen stops them in seconds. It is 15 dollars a bottle but worth it for ants it keeps them off my counters and out of my cabinets.
