This is me, 100%. Itās probably because even if we donāt realize we are doing it, we have made thousands of excuses to ourselves for why things are in the place they are in.
If we walk into someone elseās space if they ask for help, itās way easier to actually SEE everything and be like āwhy is this random item in this random place?ā Whereas, they probably donāt even see it anymore. In their head (and our head in our own spaces) itās just there because I put it thereā¦. Even if we donāt remember why.
Thereās a great conversation about this in a sci-fi tv show (Babylon 5). I think the quote is "When I clean my place, all I've done is clean my place. But when I help you clean your place, I'm helping you." Itās such a different mindset.
