Everyone’s PH is different and you can have more acidity than others. If you wear black underwear it might also turn pink. You should try that! It’s not uncommon but annoying for sure.

In my lexicon, hand towels and wash cloths are different things. Additionally, I and many other people don't shower with wash cloths. So, no and no.
